2012 World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships
The 2012 World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships took place between 24 and 26 February in Melbourne, Australia at the Medibank Icehouse. This is the first time which the Championship was held during the summer and in the Southern Hemisphere. The World Championships are organised by the ISU which also run world cups and championships in speed skating and figure skating. Agnė Sereikaitė
Agnė Sereikaitė (born 19 October 1994 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian short track speed skater. In the 2014 Winter Olympics Sereikaitė participated in all three individual events and became the first Lithuanian short track skater to qualify. She finished 24th at 500 meter distance. She was penalized at the 1000 meter distance and reached the semifinals of the 1500 meter event, where she broke her personal record by almost 5 seconds and finished 16th overall. Shim Suk-hee (Hangul: 심석희; ; born 30 January 1997) is a South Korean short track speed skater. She is a two-time Olympic Champion (2014, 2018) and a World Champion (2014). Early life At the age of 6, Shim started short track speed skating in her hometown Gangneung as a hobby with her older brother's influence. Her talent was obvious from her time since elementary school and led Shim's parents to fully support her short track career.
