2012 Women's County Championship
The 2012 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 16th cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from May to September and saw 33 county teams and teams representing Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions. Kent Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division, beating Essex in the division final. The Championship was Kent's fifth title, and their second in two seasons. Competition format Teams played matches within a series of divisions with the winners of the top division being crowned County Champions. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The championship worked on a points system, with placings decided by average points of completed games. The top two in each division played in a final to determine the winner, subsequently followed by promotion play-offs. The points are awarded as follows: Win: 10 points + bonus points. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the Sports governing body, national governing body of cricket in England and Wales. Somerset Women Cricket Team
The Somerset Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English ceremonial county of Somerset. They play their home games at various grounds across Somerset, most often in Taunton, and are captained by Sophie Luff. Somerset consistently competed in either Division 1 or Division 2 of the Women's County Championship, and won Division 2 of the Women's Twenty20 Cup in 2019. Cambridgeshire And Huntingdonshire Women Cricket Team
The Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Women's cricket team was the women's representative cricket team for the English historic counties of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. They played their home games at various grounds across the counties. They competed in the Women's County Championship between 2010 and 2019, and competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup between 2009 and 2014. After 2014 the two counties competed separately in the Twenty20 Cup, as Cambridgeshire Women and Huntingdonshire Women, and, with the discontinuation of the Women's County Championship after the 2019 season, Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire no longer compete as a unified team. The Worcestershire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Worcestershire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Chester Road, Kidderminster and Stourbridge Road, Himley. They are captained by Chloe Hill. Wales National Women's Cricket Team
The Wales women's cricket team is the Welsh team for women's cricket. They play their home matches at various grounds across the country, including Spytty Park, Newport and Pontarddulais Park, Pontarddulais. They are captained by Lauren Parfitt. As in men's cricket, Wales does not normally compete as a separate country internationally, instead being represented as part of the England team, but in 2005 they played in the European Championship tournament as it was being held in Wales. The Lancashire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Lancashire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Beaconsfield Road, Widnes. They are coached by Chris Chambers and captained by Eleanor Threlkeld. The Durham Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Durham.
