2012 South Korean Figure Skating Championships
The 2012 South Korean Figure Skating Championships ( ko, 제66회 전국 남녀 피겨스케이팅 종합선수권대회) were the South Korean Figure Skating Championships for the 2011–12 season. They were the 66th edition of those championships held. They were organized by the Korean Skating Union. The main sponsors were KB Financial Group and Hyundai Motor group. The media sponsor was MBC sports+. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's and ladies' singles on the senior, junior, and novice levels for the title of national champion of South Korea. The results of the national championships were used to choose the Korean teams to the 2012 World Figure Skating Championships and the 2012 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. The competition was held between 6 January and 8 January 2012 in Seoul. Competition notes * Kim Yuna did not compete. Richard Kang-in Kam
Richard Kang-in Kam (born December 24, 1996) is a retired New Zealand and South Korean ice dancer who most recently competed with Charlotte Lafond-Fournier representing New Zealand. Competing for South Korea with his former skating partner, Lee Ho-jung, he is a two-time national medalist and competed in the free dance at four ISU Championships. Early life On December 24, 1996, Kam was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. He is the younger brother of Korean figure skater Alex Kang-chan Kam. Career Kam began skating in 2005. Alex Kang-chan Kam
Alex Kang-chan Kam (born 23 May 1995) is a South Korean figure skater. He has represented South Korea at the 2018 Winter Olympics. As a single skater, he competed in the free skate at the 2012 Four Continents Championships. In 2015, he switched to pair skating, teaming up with Kim Kyu-eun in 2016. Cha Jun-Hwan (Hangul: 차준환; born October 21, 2001) is a South Korean figure skater who competes in the men's singles discipline. She is the 2008 South Korean Figure Skating Championships, South Korean Junior champion and competed at two Four Continents Championships. Kwak Min-jeong (born January 23, 1994) is a South Korean former competitive figure skater. She is the 2011 South Korean bronze medalist, the 2010 South Korean silver medalist and the 2009 Junior national champion. Lee Ho-jung (born March 15, 1997) is a South Korean retired ice dancer. With partner Richard Kang-in Kam, she is a two-time national medalist and has competed in the free dance at four ISU Championships. She announced on April 3, 2017 that their partnership has been dissolved. Career Single skating Lee began skating in 2005.
