LGBT Rights In Slovenia
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights in Slovenia have significantly evolved over time. Slovenia is the first and currently the only post-communist and Slavic country to legalise same-sex marriage. LGBT history in Slovenia Under the Penal Code of 30 June 1959, male homosexual acts were illegal in all of (now former) Yugoslavia. During the first half of the 1970s the power over penal legislation was devolved from the Federal Republic to the eight states and provinces. A new penal code that decriminalised homosexual intercourse was passed in 1976, and came into force in 1977. All discriminatory provisions were removed. There were no references to lesbian relationships in the old legislation. Legality of same-sex sexual activity Same-sex sexual activity has been legal since 1977, and age of consent is 15 years regardless of gender and sexual orientation. Referendums In Slovenia
A referendum (plural: referendums or less commonly referenda) is a Direct democracy, direct vote by the Constituency, electorate on a proposal, law, or political issue. This is in contrast to an issue being voted on by a Representative democracy, representative. This may result in the adoption of a new policy or specific law, or the referendum may be only advisory. In some countries, it is synonymous with or commonly known by other names including plebiscite, votation, popular consultation, ballot question, ballot measure, or proposition. Some definitions of 'plebiscite' suggest it is a type of vote to change the constitution or government of a country. The word, 'referendum' is often a catchall, used for both legislative referrals and initiatives. Etymology 'Referendum' is the gerundive form of the Latin language, Latin verb , literally "to carry back" (from the verb , "to bear, bring, carry" plus the inseparable prefix , here meaning "back"Marchant & Charles, Cassell's La ...

2012 Referendums
1 (one, unit, unity) is a number representing a single or the only entity. 1 is also a numerical digit and represents a single unit of counting or measurement. For example, a line segment of ''unit length'' is a line segment of length 1. In conventions of sign where zero is considered neither positive nor negative, 1 is the first and smallest positive integer. It is also sometimes considered the first of the infinite sequence of natural numbers, followed by  2, although by other definitions 1 is the second natural number, following  0. The fundamental mathematical property of 1 is to be a multiplicative identity, meaning that any number multiplied by 1 equals the same number. Most if not all properties of 1 can be deduced from this. In advanced mathematics, a multiplicative identity is often denoted 1, even if it is not a number. 1 is by convention not considered a prime number; this was not universally accepted until the mid-20th century. Additionally, 1 is ...

2015 Slovak Same-sex Marriage Referendum
A referendum on banning same-sex marriage was held in Slovakia on 7 February 2015. Critics claimed the referendum was pushed by religious and conservative organisations, aiming to block gay couples from gaining more rights. The referendum was not valid as the turnout did not reach the required threshold of 50%, with only 21.4% of citizens casting a vote. Background In June 2014, the Slovakia National Council amended the country's constitution to specifically deny same sex couples the legal protections associated with marriage. The referendum was initiated after the conservative church backed group Alliance for Family gathered 400,000 signatures calling for a vote on the law. The Conference of Slovak Bishops, which organises anti-abortion and anti-euthanasia rallies overwhelmingly supported the move. Questions Voters were asked questions on three issues:

Recognition Of Same-sex Unions In Slovenia
Same-sex marriage in Slovenia has been legal since 9 July 2022 in accordance with a ruling from the Constitutional Court of Slovenia. The court ruled that the ban on same-sex marriages violated the Constitution of Slovenia and gave the Slovenian Parliament six months to amend the law to align with the ruling, although the decision took effect immediately. The National Assembly passed legislation on 4 October 2022, which was overridden by the National Council one week later, but reconfirmed with a final vote in the National Assembly on 18 October 2022. Slovenia was the first country of former Yugoslavia to legalise same-sex marriage, the 18th in Europe, and the 31st worldwide. Previously, a bill to legalize same-sex marriage had been approved by Parliament on 3 March 2015; however, it was rejected in a referendum on 20 December 2015. Slovenia has also recognized partnerships since 24 February 2017. These provide same-sex partners with all of the legal rights of marriage, with the ...
