2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
The 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was the eighteenth season of the third highest stock car racing in the United States. The season was contested over twenty-two races, beginning with the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway and ending with the Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. NASCAR announced some changes, including the removal of New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, and Lucas Oil Raceway from the schedule, and moving the Phoenix race back to its traditional fall date. In addition, Rockingham Speedway was added to the schedule, the first time NASCAR has raced at Rockingham since 2004. James Buescher of Turner Motorsports claimed his first championship with a 13th-place finish in the season finale. Chevrolet won the Manufacturer's Championship with 166 points and 12 wins. List Of NASCAR Truck Series Champions
The NASCAR Truck Series Drivers' Championship is awarded by the chairman of NASCAR to the most successful NASCAR Camping World Truck Series racing car driver over a season, as determined by a points system based on race results. The Drivers' Championship was first awarded in 1995 to Mike Skinner. The first driver to win multiple Championships was Ron Hornaday Jr., in 1996 and 1998. The most recent Drivers' Champion is Zane Smith who won his first championship in 2022. Overall, Nineteen different drivers have won the Championship, with Ron Hornaday Jr. holding the record for most titles at four. Crafton has the record for most consecutive Drivers' Championships, winning two from 2013 to 2014. Travis Kvapil
Travis Wade Kvapil ( ; born March 1, 1976) is an American professional stock car driver. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, driving the No. 1 Chevrolet Silverado for Beaver Motorsports. He was the 2003 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion. Early career Kvapil grew up working on cars in his father's garage, and racing was a natural progression for the Wisconsin native. Kvapil began racing in 1992 at the age of 16 at Rockford Speedway, competing in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. He went on to win the American Short Tracker division track championship in 1994 at Rockford. RAB Racing
RAB Racing with Brack Maggard was an American professional stock car racing team that attempted NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Camping World Truck Series and the ARCA Racing Series. The team was co-owned by Robert A. Benton Sr. and his son Robert Benton Jr. along with Georgia businessman Brack Maggard and ran from 2005 through 2014. The team won one race in the Xfinity Series, but never qualified for a Cup Series race in eight attempts. Todd Michael Peck (born January 29, 1986) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 96 Toyota Tundra for Peck Motorsports. He has also raced in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the X-1R Pro Cup Series. Ross Chastain
Ross Lee Chastain (born December 4, 1992) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series driving the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Trackhouse Racing Team. He is the older brother of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Chad Chastain. Jeff Agnew
Jeffrey Agnew (born August 17, 1965) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 27 for Hillman Racing in 2013. Racing career Agnew made his debut in racing in 1978 running late models, he competed against Darrell Waltrip and Bobby Allison in one race that year. He is most well-known for his success as a competitor in the Hooters Pro Cup Series, where he was the champion of the 1998 and 2011 seasons. The 1998 championship came with future NASCAR Cup Series crew chief Darian Grubb serving in that same capacity for Agnew. He also won the 2003 Hooters Pro Cup Series regular season (competing only in the Northern Division races). Caleb Roark (born January 13, 1993) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Racing career Early career Born in Abingdon, Virginia, Nationwide Series On May 16, 2014, Roark made his Nationwide Series debut at the Iowa Speedway. Roark partnered up with the now closed Viva Motorsports and earned himself a 32nd-place finish after dropping out of the race due to a vibration. Camping World Truck Series Roark made his NASCAR debut at the Martinsville Speedway in 2011 for SS-Green Light Racing in the No. 07 Chevrolet. Johnny Chapman
Johnny Chapman (born December 14, 1967) is an American stock car racing driver. Racing career Chapman has won 40 races in NASCAR's Late Model Stock Division as well as being a two-time Goody's Dash Series Champion on his way up the rankings in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 1997, after running a few one-off races he signed a contract to run the No. 89 Sherwin-Williams Ford in the NASCAR Busch Series. He had three top fifteen finishes that year, including his best major NASCAR finish of 11th in the Winston Motorsports 300 on June 13. Henry "Butch" Miller (born June 5, 1952) is an American retired stock car racing driver. He is a multi-time champion in the now-defunct American Speed Association stock car series. NASCAR Early career In 1985, Miller ran his first Busch Series races, driving for LeRoy Throop, driving the No. 08 MSW Spyders Pontiac in four events. He made four races, and had a 2nd-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway. The next year, in 1986, he went to victory lane at the Indianapolis Raceway Park. Christopher Jake Crum (born September 25, 1991) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Racing career Through 2006, Crum captured multiple National Championships through the WKA, IKF, and INEX organizations. In 2007, Crum became the youngest driver to win a UARA-Stars Late Model Touring Series event at the age of 15.
