2012 Liga Nacional Juvenil De Voleibol Femenino
The 2012 Liga Nacional Juvenil de Voleibol Femenino (Spanish for: ''2012 Women's Junior National Volleyball League'') or 2012 LNJVF is the 2nd edition of the Peruvian Volleyball League. The competition is open for all 12 teams who have the A1 category in the LNSV, for this season 8 out of the 12 teams signed up. Teams were made up of U19 players. Competing Teams Teams were seeded according to how they finished in the previous edition. Competition format The competition is divided in two phases, the group round in which all teams will play once against the other three teams in the same pool, after the first round is finished, the top three teams will move on to the next round, meaning one team in each pool will be eliminated. The final round is a single round-robyn with all six teams playing one against the other 5, including the teams that had already played each other in the group round, the top team ranking wise will be named champion. Universidad de San Martín de Porres is a women's volleyball club based in Lima, Peru champions of the Peruvian League in 2014 and 2015 and bronze medalists in the 2015 South American Championship. The club takes its name from the private university Universidad de San Martín de Porres. History 2012 After announcing the retirement of the Universidad de San Martín de Porres football club from the National football National Championship, the club intended to focus in other sports, strengthening the volleyball club among them. María Ángela Leyva Tagle (born November 22, 1996, in Lima, Peru) is a peruvian volleyball player who plays for the Peru national team. At the age of 14 she had already been in all categories of Peru's national team, Child (U16), Youth (U18), Junior (U20) and Senior. Leyva was captain of the team that won gold at the 2012 Youth South American Championship, the first gold medal for Peruvian volleyball in that category after 32 years and the first gold in any category in 19 years.
