Brixen
Brixen (, ; it, Bressanone ; lld, Porsenù or ) is a town in South Tyrol, northern Italy, located about north of Bolzano. Geography First mentioned in 901, Brixen is the third largest city and oldest town in the province, and the artistic and cultural capital of the valley. It is located at the confluence of the Eisack and Rienz rivers, north of Bolzano and south of the Brenner Pass, on the Italy-Austrian border. It is flanked on the eastern side by the Plose and Telegraph (Monte Telegrafo) mountains (2,504 m) and on the western side by the Königsanger (Monte Pascolo) (2,436 m) mountain. Paolo Dal Molin (born 31 July 1987) is an Italian athlete competing in the 110 metres hurdles. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in 110 m hurdles. Anna Giordano Bruno (born 13 December 1980) is a retired Italian track and field athlete who specialised in the pole vault. She won the bronze medal at the 2009 Mediterranean Games and represented Italy at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. She has also competed at European-level both indoors and outdoors. Gianmarco Tamberi
Gianmarco Tamberi (born 1 June 1992) is an Italian high jumper, current Olympic champion (2020 Summer Olympics) and World indoor champion (2016). He won the 2021 Diamond League crown, becoming the first ever Italian to do so, and repeated this in 2022. Career Gianmarco is coached by his father, Marco Tamberi, who held the indoor Italian record in 1983 with a height of 2.28 m. In 2015, Tamberi broke the Italian high jump record twice—first with a jump of 2.34 m in Cologne, and second with a 2.37 m in Eberstadt, where he was second behind Derek Drouin. He later finished 8th at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing with a clearance of 2.25 m. During winter 2016, Tamberi won every contest he participated at. Simona La Mantia
Simona La Mantia (born 14 April 1983 in Palermo) is an Italian triple jumper. Her best result at international senior level was a gold medal at the 2011 European Indoor Championships. Biography La Mantia's parents were both athletes: her mother Monica Mutschlechner was an 800 metres runner while her father Antonino La Mantia participated in the steeplechase. Her first successes came the European Athletics U23 Championships, where she won silver in the triple jump in 2003, and improved to win the gold medal in 2005. She represented Italy at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2005 World Championships in Athletics. Matteo Villani (born 29 August 1982) is an Italian steeplechase runner. Biography Villani was born in San Secondo Parmense, Parma. He represented Italy at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and competed in the men's 3000 m steeplechase. He ran in the first heat of the event, against twelve other competitors, including France's Bouabdellah Tahri and Kenya's Brimin Kipruto (who eventually won the gold medal in the final), but did not finish the entire race.
