The World Group Play-offs were four ties which involved the losing nations of the 2012 Fed Cup World Group, World Group first round and the winning nations of the 2012 Fed Cup World Group II, World Group II. Nations that won their play-off ties entered the 2013 Fed Cup World Group, 2013 World Group, while losing nations joined the 2013 Fed Cup World Group II, 2013 World Group II. The World Group was the highest level of Fed Cup competition in 2012. Eight nations competed in a three-round knockout competition.
