2012 FA Trophy Final
The 2012 FA Trophy Final was the 43rd final of the Football Association's cup competition for levels 5–8 of the English football league system. The match was contested by Newport County and York City. York City were beaten finalists in 2009, but it was Newport County's first final and their debut visit to Wembley in their 100-year history. Newport County defeated Forest Green Rovers, Worksop Town, Carshalton Athletic, Northwich Victoria and Wealdstone en route to the Final. York City defeated Solihull Moors, Salisbury City, Ebbsfleet United, Grimsby Town, and Luton Town en route to the final. One lifelong Newport County fan, 95-year-old Ron Jones, uncle of chairman Chris Blight, was reported to have been looking forward to the game after having watched the club home and away for most of his life. 2011–12 FA Trophy
The 2011–12 FA Trophy is the 42nd season of the FA Trophy, the Football Association's cup competition for teams at levels 5–8 of the English football league system. A total of 266 clubs entered the competition. The competition was won for the first time by York City, who defeated Newport County 2–0 in the Final at Wembley on 12 May 2012. Cannon Park is a suburb in the southwest of the City of Coventry, West Midlands, England. It can be accessed via the major roads Kenpas Highway (A45) or Kenilworth Road. Nailsworth is a town and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England, lying in one of the Stroud Valleys in the Cotswolds, on the A46 road (the Roman Fosse Way), south of Stroud and about north-east of Bristol and Bath. The New Lawn
The New Lawn, also known as The Bolt New Lawn for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. It has been the home stadium of League One club Forest Green Rovers since 2006. During the 2007–08 season the stadium was shared with Gloucester City. The stadium has a capacity of 5,147, of which 2,000 is seated. It replaced The Lawn Ground as Forest Green Rovers' home stadium and is expected to be replaced by a new stadium development located near the M5 motorway. Darryl James Knights (born 1 May 1988) is an English footballer who plays for Stourbridge, where he plays as a striker. Playing career Born in Ipswich, Knights was a product of the youth system at Ipswich Town and played for England at youth and Under-17 level. Craig McAllister (born 28 June 1980) is a Scottish former professional footballer. McAllister started his career with Eastleigh as a youth player. Matthew James Blair (born 21 June 1989) is a former English professional footballer who last played as a right back for club Cheltenham Town. Blair started his career with Racing Club Warwick and after one season with the club signed for Stratford Town in 2008.
