2012 CONCACAF Futsal Championship
The 2012 North and Central American Futsal Championship, CONCACAF Futsal Championship was the fifth edition of the main international futsal tournament of the CONCACAF, North and Central America and the Caribbean region. It took place in Guatemala City, Guatemala from 2 to 8 July 2012. The tournament served as a qualifying tournament for the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Thailand. Qualifying CFU (Caribbean Football Union) Qualifying Tournament Saint Kitts and Nevis national futsal team, Saint Kitts and Nevis advanced automatically to the final round of a 2012 CONCACAF Futsal Championship after the Dominican Republic national futsal team, Dominican Republic, Guyana national futsal team, Guyana, Haiti national futsal team, Haiti and Trinidad & Tobago national futsal team, Trinidad & Tobago withdrew from regional qualifying. Domo Polideportivo De La CDAG
The Domo Polideportivo de la CDAG, known commonly as ''Domo de la Zona 13'', or simply as ''Domo'' (dome, due to the type of its roof structure), is a multi-purpose arena in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Built to host the 2000 FIFA Futsal World Championship, it is located in the Zone 13 of the Guatemalan capital, in the location of the Guatemalan bullring, and has a capacity of 7,500 seats. The venue is owned and operated by the ''Confederación Deportiva Autónoma de Guatemala'' (CDAG), and is also used for musical presentations, as well as cultural and political activities, for which the CDAG leases the site. According to the CDAG, the Dome is a beautiful venue, but the high cost of its operation has affected its role as a sports venue, because most sports federations in the country cannot afford the cost of using it. Ian Dwight Bennett (born August 27, 1983) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for the Milwaukee Wave in the Major Arena Soccer League. He is the older brother of former Syracuse Silver Knights player Josh Bennett. Kraig Chiles (born May 14, 1984) is an American soccer player currently playing for the San Diego Sockers in the Major Arena Soccer League. Career Youth and college Chiles played high school soccer for Poway High School in Poway, California, and remains one of the school's all-time leading goalscorers. At San Diego State University he was named to the All-Pac-10 team three times, including First Team All-Pac-10 senior year. Kraig scored 21 goals and had 12 assists in his four years with the Aztecs. Professional Chiles was drafted 9th overall by CD Chivas USA in the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft. Joshua Lemos (born May 4, 1989) is a Canadian futsal player who plays as a goalkeeper for the Canada national team. He also plays professional indoor soccer for the Milwaukee Wave. Early life Lemos was born in Brampton, Ontario to an Uruguayan father and a Canadian mother and raised in neighbouring Toronto.
