2011–12 Washington State Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Washington State Cougars men's basketball team represented Washington State University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team played its home games on Jack Friel Court at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, Washington and are members of the Pac-12 Conference. They were led by third year head coach Ken Bone. They finished with the record of 19–18 overall, 7–11 in Pac-12 play. They lost in the first round of the Pac-12 Basketball tournament to Oregon State . They were invited to the 2012 College Basketball Invitational where they advanced to the best of three finals series, falling to Pittsburgh 2 games to 1. Departures The Cougars lost their leading scorer Klay Thompson because of the 2011 NBA Draft. He was averaging over 21 points per game. Montverde Academy
Montverde Academy is a private PK–12 school in Montverde, Florida, United States. History The school was founded in 1912 as Montgomery Industrial School. The school president was Henry P. Carpenter. It underwent a major expansion in 1921, when two new buildings were built for a cost of almost $40,000, including a concrete block dormitory for 200 boys and a new dining hall. The expansion was funded by donations, including $11,000 from R. Jay Arnold of Groveland, Florida. This expansion brought the organization to a total of eight buildings on 200 acres and $150,000 worth of equipment. An observation tower above the new dormitory provided a view of Lake Apopka, Winter Garden, and Groveland. The dining facilities served 400 children. In the 1920s, sports teams were established. Hillsborough Community College
Hillsborough Community College (HCC) is a public community college in Hillsborough County, Florida. It is part of the Florida College System. History HCC was one of the last community colleges to be created in Florida, founded in 1968. Only Pasco–Hernando State College, out of the 28-school Florida community college system, was founded later. In January 2008 the school opened its first residence hall, Hawk's Landing, named after the school mascot. This marks HCC as one of the few community colleges with its own residence hall. Faisal Aden (born January 1, 1989) is a Somali professional basketball player. Pro career After going undrafted in 2012 NBA draft, he signed with the Leuven Bears in Basketball League Belgium but was cut due to failing a physical. In November, Aden was selected in the 2012 NBA Development League Draft by the Golden State Warriors' D-League affiliate Santa Cruz Warriors as the 13th pick in the 3rd round. He was shortly traded to the Texas Legends. After appearing in one preseason game with the Legends, Aden was waived. On February 16, 2013, Aden signed a contract with the Italian powerhouse Virtus Roma. Two months later, Aden left Virtus Roma. Curtis Senior High School
Curtis Senior High School is a public high school located in University Place, Washington. Curtis Senior High School is a part of the University Place School District and the only high school in the district. The University Place school district includes most of University Place and portions of Fircrest and Tacoma. History The school's namesake comes from the former UPSD Superintendent George R. Curtis. The school opened in 1957 as a joint junior-senior high school at the corner of 40th and Grandview. DaVonté Damion Lacy (born March 11, 1993) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Ionikos Nikaias of the Greek Basket League.
