The Pro Hokei Ligasy formerly known as ''Republic of Kazakhstan Open Ice Hockey Championship'' ''( kk, Шайбалық хоккей бойынша Қазақстан Республикасының ашық чемпионаты, russian: Открытый Чемпионат Республики Казахстан по хоккею с шайбой)'', commonly referred to as ''Kazakh Hockey Championship'', is an annual ice hockey award and national title, bestowed to the winning ice hockey team in Kazakhstan, founded in 1992. On August 9, 2015, a 12,000-seat and 86,000-square-metre Ice Palace was opened in the Kazakh capital of Astana. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. Nomad Hockey Club ( kk, Nomad Hokkej Kluby), commonly referred to as Nomad Astana, is a farm team of the Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Founded in 2007 as Barys Astana–2, the team changed its name to Nomad Astana in 2013. Formerly a member of the Supreme Hockey League, Nomad currently play in the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship.
