2011–12 Gonzaga Bulldogs Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Gonzaga Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Gonzaga University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs (also informally referred to as the "Zags"), members of the West Coast Conference, were led by head coach Mark Few, in his 13th season at the school. The Zags played most of their home games at the McCarthey Athletic Center on the university campus in Spokane, Washington, but played one home game at Spokane Arena, located in downtown Spokane about 2 miles (3 km) from the Gonzaga campus. The team also played one game at KeyArena in Seattle, a contest billed as the "Battle in Seattle". This season, the Zags also played a game against Hawaii at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC. Mark Few
Mark Norman Few (born December 27, 1962) is an American college basketball coach who has been the head coach at Gonzaga University since 1999. He has served on Gonzaga's coaching staff since 1989, and has been a constant on the sidelines throughout a period that has seen the Bulldogs rise from mid-major obscurity to consistent NCAA tournament contenders. During his tenure as head coach, Few has led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament every season (except 2019–20, when the team had secured an automatic bid but the tournament was canceled), a stretch that has garnered the Bulldogs recognition as a major basketball power despite playing in a mid-major conference. Fairfield Stags Men's Basketball
The Fairfield Stags men's basketball team represents Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut and competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I. The Stags play their home games in the 3,500 seat Leo D. Mahoney Arena on campus. The team is currently coached by Jay Young, his fourth year at the helm. Indiana State Sycamores Men's Basketball
The Indiana State Sycamores basketball is the NCAA Division I men's basketball program of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. They currently compete in the Missouri Valley Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 2011. The Sycamores' first season was 1896, making them the oldest basketball team in the NCAA along with Bucknell, Minnesota, Washington and Yale; however, the records from 1896 to 1899 no longer exist. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. 2012 West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2012 West Coast Conference men's basketball tournament was held February 29 though March 5 at the Orleans Arena in the Las Vegas Valley, Las Vegas-area community of Paradise, Nevada, Paradise, Nevada. Format With the addition of 2011–12 BYU Cougars men's basketball team, BYU to the conference, a new format was introduced for the 2012 tournament.
