2011–12 Dutch Basketball League
The 2011–12 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 52nd season of the highest Dutch professional basketball league. The regular season started on 8 October 2011. EiffelTowers Den Bosch won its 15th national championship, after beating ZZ Leiden 4–1 in the Finals. Seamus Boxley received the Most Valuable Player award this season. Rules This was the first season played with new rules about foreign players; all teams were allowed to have no more than four foreign players on their roster. 2010–11 Dutch Basketball League
The 2010–11 Dutch Basketball League season was the 51st season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden won the national championship by beating GasTerra Flames 4-3 in the finals. The season was decided in game seven in the Vijf Meihal in Leiden. After three overtimes, Leiden won the championship over the Flames. Teams All teams from the 2009–10 season played again this season. Basketball Stars Weert, commonly known as BSW, was a professional basketball team based in Weert, Netherlands. The club was founded in 1968 and played in the Dutch Basketball League. Home games of the team are played in the Sporthal Boshoven. The club was a regular participant in the Dutch top division, as the side from Weert appeared in the Eredivisie (later DBL) for 34 straight seasons. The highlight of the club was the national championship in the 1993–94 season. The club finished three times as runner-up in the DBL: in 1988, 1993 and 2001. As well, BSW made European appearances with the most notable being the one in the FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup, the highest European level, in 1994–95. David Gonzalvez
David Gonzalvez (born October 29, 1987) is an American professional basketball player for Tampereen Pyrintö in the Finnish Korisliiga. Standing at 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in), Gonzalvez usually plays at the shooting guard position. He played college basketball for the Utah State Aggies, where he was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2011. Jevohn Shepherd (born April 8, 1986) is a Canadian basketball executive who is the vice-president of basketball operations and general manager for the Ottawa Blackjacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).
