2011–12 CONCACAF Champions League Championship Round
The 2011–12 CONCACAF Champions League Championship Round was played from March to April 2012. A total of eight teams qualified for the Championship Round: the four group winners and the four group runners-up from the Group Stage. The draw for the Championship Round was held on November 8, 2011, at the CONCACAF headquarters in New York City. In the quarter-finals, the group winners were assured of playing the second leg at home, and were drawn against the group runners-up, with the only restriction being that they could not face the same team that they played in the Group Stage (and thus they could face a team from the same association). The championship round was played in knockout format. Each tie was played over two legs, and the away goals rule was used, but not after a tie entered extra time; a penalty shoot-out was thus used if the aggregate score was level after extra time. The 2011–12 CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage were played from August to October 2011. The matchdays were August 16–18, August 23–25, September 13–15, September 20–22, September 27–29, and October 18–20, 2011. The draw for the Preliminary Round and the Group Stage was held on May 18, 2011, at the CONCACAF headquarters in New York City. Teams from the same association (excluding "wildcard" teams which replace a team from another association) may not be drawn with each other. A total of 16 teams competed, which include 8 automatic qualifiers and 8 winners of the 2011–12 CONCACAF Champions League Preliminary Round, Preliminary Round. Francisco Chacón
Francisco Chacón Gutiérrez (born May 8, 1976, Irapuato, Guanajuato) is a Mexican former football referee qualified by FIFA to officiate international matches. An international referee from 2009 to 2017, Chacón has been selected for two FIFA Tournaments, the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2011 Copa América. Officiating in domestic leagues Chacón's first game as a referee was on September 7, 2003, in the Mexican Primera "A" during Round 6 of Torneo Apertura 2003 between Tapatio and Tijuana. Morelia (; from 1545 to 1828 known as Valladolid) is a city and municipal seat of the municipality of Morelia in the north-central part of the state of Michoacán in central Mexico. The city is in the Guayangareo Valley and is the capital and largest city of the state. Estadio Morelos is a football stadium located along Periférico Independencia, in the Independencia sector, near the base of Cerro del Quinceo in northwest Morelia, Michoacán, México. It was the site of professional football teams, Monarcas Morelia in the top division of Mexican football and Monarcas Primera A in the league under that. Abraham Darío Carreño Rohan (born 13 January 1988) is a former Mexican professional footballer who last played as a forward for Liga Nacional club Nueva Concepción. Humberto Andrés Suazo Pontivo (; born 10 May 1981), nicknamed ''Chupete'' (in English, ''Lollipop''), is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a striker for Deportes La Serena. Joel Adrián Huiqui Andrade (born 18 February 1983) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. His paternal surname is of Mayo origin (indigenous people of Sonora and Sinaloa).
