Joel Huiqui
Joel Adrián Huiqui Andrade (born 18 February 1983) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. His paternal surname is of Mayo origin (indigenous people of Sonora and Sinaloa). Career Joel Huiqui started his career in Hermosillo Hidalgo in the Primera Division 'A' which is the youth team of Cruz Azul, but debuted with C.F. Pachuca as a loan from Cruz Azul who did not debut him. He debuted in a game over CF Querétaro in a 0–0 tie in the 2003 Apertura. Playing two tournaments with Pachuca in a total of 38 games, he was later given back to Cruz Azul, where he earned a starting eleven position in 2004. Huiqui played in Mexico minor U-23 and for the senior Mexico national team, in the qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. However, Mexican coach Ricardo La Volpe left Huiqui out of the 23 players who went to the 2006 World Cup. He had also captained the national team during 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. 2006 World Cup
The 2006 FIFA World Cup, also branded as Germany 2006, was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 9 June to 9 July 2006 in Germany, which had won the right to host the event in July 2000. Teams representing 198 national football associations from all six populated continents participated in the qualification process which began in September 2003. Thirty-one teams qualified from this process along with hosts Germany for the finals tournament. It was the second time that Germany staged the competition and the first as a unified country along with the former East Germany with Leipzig as a host city (the other was in 1974 in West Germany), and the 10th time that the tournament was held in Europe. The Supercopa MX ( en, Supercup MX) was a Mexican football championship contested by the winners of the Apertura and Clausura Copa MX. History In June 2013 Liga MX president Decio De MarÃa announced the winners of Apertura and Clausura Copa MX will face each other and the winner will qualify to the following year's Copa Libertadores as "Mexico 3". On June 20, 2014 it was announced the two teams would face each other in a two-legged home-and-away series called ''SuperCopa MX''. The 2015 edition SuperCopa MX was a single match at a neutral venue, Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, United States, making Mexico the fourth nation (after Italy, France and Turkey) and first North American nation to stage its Super Cup abroad. Copa MX
The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. The original purpose of the competition was to determine a national champion, thus distinguishing it from the local league championship. Its format was different from the local leagues as well, as it employed direct elimination and culminated in a final that received much more fanfare than the local leagues. The Copa Panamericana 2007 was a minor football club tournament organized by DIRECTV between July 16 and July 22 in the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, United States. The tournament was divided in two groups of three, who played each other once, with the top club in each group progressing to the final match. The champion, Cruz Azul, received $250,000. Edgar Gerardo Lugo Aranda (born 31 December 1984) is a Mexican former professional footballer. A creative midfielder, Lugo is usually deployed as an attacking midfielder but can also play as a winger or second striker. His key attributes are his ball control, vision and passing ability.
