2011–12 Athletic Bilbao Season
The 2011–12 season was the 111th season in Athletic Bilbao's history and their 81st consecutive season in La Liga, the top division of Spanish football. It covers a period from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012. Athletic Bilbao competed for their ninth La Liga title and participated in the UEFA Europa League, entering in the play-off round due to their sixth-place finish in the 2010–11 La Liga. They also entered the Copa del Rey in the Round of 32. Athletic Club ( eu, Bilboko Athletic Kluba; es, Athletic Club de Bilbao), commonly known as Athletic Bilbao or just Athletic, is a professional Association football, football club based in the city of Bilbao in the Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country of Spain. They are known as ''Los Leones'' (The Lions) because their stadium was built near a church called ''San Mamés'', which was named after Saint Mammes of Caesarea, Saint Mammes, an early Christian thrown to the lions by the Roman Empire, Romans. Mammes pacified the lions and was later made a saint. The team plays its home matches at the San Mamés Stadium. Its home colours are red and white-striped shirts with black shorts. Albacete Balompié is a Spanish football team based in Albacete, in the autonomous community of Castile–La Mancha. Founded on 2 August 1940, it currently plays in Segunda División, the second tier of Spanish football, holding home matches at ''Estadio Carlos Belmonte'', with a capacity of 17,524. José Manuel Casado
José Manuel Casado Bizcocho (born 9 August 1986) is a Spanish professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Defender (association football)#Full-back, left-back. Club career Casado was born in Coria del Río, Province of Seville. After starting his youth career at Sevilla FC he finished it at FC Barcelona, only representing the Catalonia, Catalans' FC Barcelona C, C team (soon to be extinct) and subsequently returning to his previous club, spending two seasons with reserves Sevilla Atlético in the Segunda División.
