Bora Kostić
Borivoje "Bora" Kostić ( sr-Cyrl, Бopивoje "Бора" Kocтић, ; 14 June 1930 – 10 January 2011) was a Serbian footballer. Normally a prolific left winger, Kostić is regarded as one of finest Yugoslav players of his generation and was well known for powerful shot and free kick ability. He was part of the Yugoslav squad that won gold at the 1960 Summer Olympics. During his club career he played for Red Star Belgrade, Lanerossi Vicenza and St. Louis Stars. He earned 33 caps and 26 goals for the Yugoslavia national football team, and participated in the 1960 European Nations' Cup. The University of Belgrade ( sr, / ) is a public university in Serbia. It is the oldest and largest modern university in Serbia. Founded in 1808 as the Belgrade Higher School in revolutionary Serbia, by 1838 it merged with the Kragujevac-based departments into a single university. The university has around 97,700 enrolled students and over 4,800 academic staff members. 2011 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship
The 2011 UEFA European Under-17 Championship was the tenth edition of UEFA's European Under-17 Football Championship. Serbia hosted the tournament between the 3 and 15 May. 6 Teams also qualified for the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Players born after 1 January 1994 were eligible to participate in this competition. England was the defending champion, but lost in the semi-final. The Netherlands defeated Germany 5–2 in the final to win the championship for the first time. 2010–11 Serbian Cup
The 2010–11 Serbian Cup season is fifth season of the Serbian national football tournament. The competition started on 1 September 2010 and concluded with the Final on 11 May 2011. FK Partizan won the title 2–1 over FK Vojvodina in controversial fashion. After a series of disputed referee decisions against Vojvodina, the team walked off the pitch and refused to finish the match, leading Partizan to be declared the winner as time expired. However, later this decision was revised pending further investigation. On Monday, May 16th 2011, the Cup final match result is registered with a Vojvodina forfeit (0:3 victory for Partizan). Preliminary round A preliminary round was held in order to reduce the number of teams competing in the next round to 32 and featured 14 teams from Serbian lower divisions. 2010–11 Serbian SuperLiga
The 2010–11 Serbian SuperLiga (known as the Jelen SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons) was the fifth season of the Serbian SuperLiga, the top football league of Serbia, since its establishment in 2006. It began on 14 August 2010 and ended on 29 May 2011. A total of sixteen teams contested the league. Partizan successfully defended their title after a 1–1 draw at Metalac Gornji Milanovac with one match left to play. It was their fourth consecutive Serbian title and their 23rd domestic championship. Teams Napredak Kruševac and Mladi Radnik were relegated to the 2010–11 Serbian First League after the 2009–10 season for finishing in 15th and 16th place, respectively. Serbia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Serbia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Čaroban" written by Kristina Kovač. The song was performed by Nina. The Serbian national broadcaster, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) organised the national final ''Pesma za Evropu - Diseldorf 2011'' in order to select the Serbian entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Kornelije Kovač and his two daughters Aleksandra Kovač and Kristina Kovač were selected to each compose a song for the national final on 26 February 2011, which resulted in "Čaroban" performed by Nina as the winner entirely by a public televote. Serbia was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2011.
