2011 Power Horse World Team Cup
The 2011 Power Horse World Team Cup was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 33rd edition of the World Team Cup, and was part of the 250 series of the 2011 ATP World Tour. It took place at the Rochusclub in Düsseldorf, Germany. After ARAG discontinued sponsorship for the event and organizers failed to find a new sponsor, the 2011 edition of the tournament was cancelled. However a new sponsor (Power Horse) was found in January 2011, and so the 2011 edition of the Cup took place between May 15–21. Leading the team roster, the defending champions, Argentina, also won in 2007, 2002 and 1980. They were joined by 4-time champions Sweden, Spain and United States, 3-time champions Germany (one additional title by West Germany), one-time champions Serbia (also a part of the 1990 winning team Yugoslavia), 4-time runners-up Russia and newcomers Kazakhstan. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. Mikhail Kukushkin
Mikhail Aleksandrovich Kukushkin (russian: link=no, Михаил Александрович Кукушкин; born 26 December 1987) is a Russian-born Kazakhstani professional tennis player. Before 2008, he played for his country of birth, Russia. Career Born in Volgograd, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, he turned pro in 2006. Marcel Granollers Pujol (; ; born 12 April 1986) is a Spanish professional tennis player. He reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 19 in July 2012, and his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 4 in February 2013. Florian Mayer
Florian Mayer (; born 5 October 1983) is a German former professional tennis player. Mayer reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 18 in June 2011. Also in 2011, Mayer won his first ATP title after four previous defeats in ATP finals. Mayer competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Dušan Lajović ( sr-cyrl, Душан Лајовић; born 30 June 1990) is a Serbian professional tennis player. Lajović has won one singles and two doubles titles on the ATP Tour. Simon Aspelin (; born 11 May 1974) is a former professional tennis doubles player from Sweden who turned professional in 1998. His success mainly came in doubles, winning 12 titles and reaching World No. 7 in March 2008. In men's doubles, Aspelin won the 2007 US Open and the Silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
