The 2011 1. divisjon (women) season kicked off on 25 April 2011, and the final round was played on 23 October 2011. Vålerenga were promoted to the 2011 Toppserien as 1. divisjon winners, along with Fart who finished second. This was the first time Vålerenga were playing in Toppserien, while Fart returned to the top division for the first time since 2008. Before the season started, Orkla withdrew their team, and was replaced by Alta. Manglerud Star were bankrupted 4 April 2011, and didn't play any matches. The season began on 18 March 2011 for Tippeligaen, 3 April 2011 for Adeccoligaen, with 2. divisjon and 3. divisjon both starting six days later on 9 April 2011. 2. divisjon and 3. divisjon ended on 22 October 2011 while Adeccoligaen ended eight days later on 30 October 2011 and Tippeligaen finished on 27 November 2011. IF Fløya
Idrettsforeningen Fløya is a Norwegian football club from the city of Tromsø. The club was founded on 22 June 1922 and named after the Fløya mountain which overlooks Tromsø centre. The women's team has got two third-place finishes in Toppserien, in 2004 and 2005, as its best ever achievements. On 16 December 2020, the women's team merged with Tromsø IL under the name of TIL 2020. The new name was taken into effect starting from the 2022 season. Norwegian First Division (women) Seasons
The Norwegian First Division, also called 1. divisjon and OBOS-ligaen (named sponsor is property developer OBOS), is the second-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Each year, the top finishing teams in the 1. divisjon are promoted to the Eliteserien, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to 2. divisjon. 1. divisjon was previously known as 2. divisjon (1963–1990) and replaced regional league Landsdelsserien (1951–1962) after the latter was dissolved after the 1961–62 season. The second tier was also prior to Landsdelsserien known as 1. divisjon (1948–1951). Formally, it was a semi-professional league. AaFK Fortuna (formerly known as FK Fortuna Ålesund) is a Norwegian women's football club from Ålesund that currently competes in 2. divisjon, the third tier of Norwegian football. It is named after Fortuna of Roman mythology. History The club was founded on 25 August 1991 by outbreakers from SK Guard, and merged with Spjelkavik IL in 1995. The Norwegian Football Federation ( nb, Norges Fotballforbund, nn, Noregs Fotballforbund; NFF) is the governing body of football in Norway. It was formed in 1902 and organises the men's and women's national teams, as well as the league systems for men and women (whose top levels are respectively the Eliteserien and Toppserien). The current president of NFF is Lise Klaveness. By 1 January 2004, there were 1,814 clubs organized in Norway and 373,532 registered players. It is the largest sports federation in Norway.
