2011 Nebelhorn Trophy
The 2011 Nebelhorn Trophy took place on September 21–24, 2011 at the Eislaufzentrum Oberstdorf. It is held annually in Oberstdorf, Germany and is named after the Nebelhorn, a nearby mountain. It was one of the first international senior competitions of the season. Skaters were entered by their respective national federations and competed in four disciplines: single skating, men's singles, single skating, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The Fritz-Geiger-Memorial Trophy was presented to the team with the highest placements across all disciplines. Overview In men's singles, Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan, Stephen Carriere from the United States, and Russian Zhan Bush were the leaders after the short program. The 2011–2012 figure skating season began on July 1, 2011, and ends on June 30, 2012. Zhan Viacheslavovich Bush (russian: Жан Вячеславович Буш born 1 April 1993) is a Russian figure skater. He is the 2013 Cup of Nice bronze medalist, a four-time medalist on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series, and 2011 Russian national senior bronze medalist. He placed 5th at the 2012 World Junior Championships. Personal life Bush was formerly known by the surname ''Devinski'' (russian: Девинский), but switched to his mother's maiden name, ''Bush'', with the consent of his whole family. Alexander Gazsi (born 6 October 1984) is a German ice dancer. With partner Nelli Zhiganshina, he is a six-time German national champion (2007, 2011–2015) and has won twelve international medals. Nelli Nailevna Zhiganshina (russian: Нелли Наильевна Жиганшина; born 31 March 1987) is a Russian-born German ice dancer. With Alexander Gazsi, she is a six-time German national champion (2007, 2011–2015) and has won twelve international medals. They have placed as high as 6th at the European Championships and 10th at the World Championships. Personal life Nelli Zhiganshina was born on 31 March 1987 in Moscow. Daniel Wende (born 24 July 1984) is a German pair skater. With Maylin Wende, he is the 2010 Trophée Eric Bompard bronze medalist, the 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, and a two-time German national champion. John Coughlin (figure Skater)
John Patrick Coughlin (December 1, 1985 – January 18, 2019) was an American pair skater. With Caydee Denney, he was the 2012 Four Continents silver medalist and 2012 U.S. national champion. With previous partner Caitlin Yankowskas, he was the 2011 U.S. champion. Coughlin died by suicide, one day after the United States Center for SafeSport announced Coughlin would face an interim temporary suspension over unspecified allegations. Joshi Helgesson (born 7 June 1993) is a Swedish retired figure skater. She is the 2014 Bavarian Open champion, 2011 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalist, and three-time Swedish national champion.
