2011 Giro Di Lombardia
The 2011 Giro di Lombardia was the 105th edition of the Giro di Lombardia single-day cycling race, often known as the ''Race of the Falling Leaves''. It was held on 15 October 2011, over a distance of , starting in Milan and ending in Lecco for the first time. It was the 26th and final event of the 2011 UCI World Tour. rider Oliver Zaugg won the race, having attacked on the final climb of ''Salita di Ello'' and stayed away until the end, winning a race for the first time in his professional career. The remaining podium places were contested for – eight seconds behind Zaugg – in a five-man sprint for the line with 's Dan Martin just besting Joaquim Rodríguez of for second place. 2011 UCI World Tour
The 2011 UCI World Tour was the third edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The series started with the Tour Down Under's opening stage on 18 January, and consisted of 14 stage races and 13 one-day races, culminating in the Giro di Lombardia on 15 October. __TOC__ Events All 26 events from the 2010 UCI World Ranking were included, though the UCI ProTour classification of events under which 16 of these were previously promoted has now been disbanded. TF1 Group (french: Groupe TF1) is a French media holding company. Its best-known property is the broadcast network TF1. The group was formed after TF1 was privatized in April 1987. Carlos Alberto Betancur Gómez (born 13 October 1989) is a Colombian road racing cyclist, who most recently rode for Colombian amateur team . Giovanni Visconti (born 13 January 1983) is an Italian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Professional career Early career Born in Turin, Visconti won his first race in 2006 at the Coppa Sabatini. One year later, he won the Italian National Road Race Championships on 1 July 2007, beating Paolo Bossoni () and Davide Rebellin () at the end in a sprint. Domenico Pozzovivo (born 30 November 1982) is an Italian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . His very small stature confer him with the qualities of a pure climbing specialist. He is most known for a victory in stage 8 of the 2012 Giro d'Italia, an overall victory in the 2012 Giro del Trentino, and is notable for his educational attainments. Ivan Basso (born 26 November 1977) is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 1999 and 2015 for seven different teams. Basso, nicknamed Ivan the Terrible, was considered among the best mountain riders in the professional field in the early 21st century, and was considered one of the strongest stage race riders. The UCI WorldTour (2009–2010: ''UCI World Ranking'') is the premier men's elite road cycling tour, sitting above the UCI ProSeries and various regional UCI Continental Circuits.
