2011 FIA Formula Two Championship
The 2011 FIA Formula Two Championship season was the third year of the FIA Formula Two Championship. The championship began on 17 April at Silverstone and finished on 30 October at the Circuit de Catalunya, after eight double-header rounds and all (excluding Silverstone) in support of International GT Open racing weekends. For most of the season, the championship battle revolved around a returning driver Mirko Bortolotti (finished fourth in 2009 and rookie driver Christopher Zanella. Bortolotti took lead after win in the opening race of the season at Silverstone and did not leave him until the end of the season. The Italian secured his title and a prize test for the Williams F1 team in the home race at Monza with two races to spare. Bortolotti scored seven wins in a season matching 2009 Champion Andy Soucek record and with win in 2009 at Brno the Italian took absolute win record in FIA Formula Two Championship. FIA Formula Two Championship (established In 2009)
The FIA Formula 2 Championship is a second-tier single-seater championship organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Held on racing circuits, the championship was introduced in 2017, following the rebranding of the long-term Formula One feeder series GP2. The series' original founders were Flavio Briatore and current managing director Bruno Michel. Designed to make racing relatively affordable for the teams and to make it an ideal training ground for life in Formula One, Formula 2 has made it mandatory for all of the teams to use the same chassis, engine and tyre supplier so that true driver ability is reflected. Formula 2 mainly races on European circuits, but has appearances at other international race tracks as well such as the Bahrain International Circuit in Bahrain, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia and the Yas Marina Circuit in the United Arab Emirates. Plamen Simeonov Kralev ( bg, Пламен Симеонов Кралев, born 22 February 1973 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian racing driver and businessman. He is the first Bulgarian driver to participate in FIA Formula 2 Championship, and the only Bulgarian driver to compete in 24 Hours of Le Mans, Le Mans series, ADAC GT Masters, International GT Open, FIA European Touring Car Cup, Italian Touring Car Championship and Ferrari Challenge. Jon Lancaster (born 10 December 1988 in Leeds) is a British auto racing driver. Career Early life and karting Lancaster was born on 10 December 1988 in Leeds, Yorkshire. He used to watch Formula One since he was three years old and always liked seeing cars. After getting his full karting licence, Lancaster was initially competing at Wombwell Kart Circuit in Barnsley, where he won in his sixth ever race in the Cadet class. Johannes Theobald (born 22 February 1987 in Stuttgart) is a racing driver from Germany. Career Formula König After spending his early years karting in his native Germany, Theobald made his Formula Racing debut in the entry–level Formula König series in 2003, finishing the year in 12th position. The following season he scored nine podium places to be classified as runner–up behind Ronny Wechselberger, who won all 14 races in the championship. Thiemo Storz (born 12 October 1991 in Tettnang) is a racing driver from Germany. Tobias Hegewald (born 3 August 1989 in Neuwied) is a German racing driver.
