2011 European Dressage Championships
The 2011 European Dressage Championship was held between August 17 and August 21, 2011 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was the 25 edition of the European Dressage Championships, in the 24th time team medals were awarded. Organization Before the event At the 2008 FEI-General Assembly in Buenos Aires, the Netherlands was chosen as the country to host the 2011 European Dressage Championship. Rotterdam, location of the annual Nations Cup horse show in Show Jumping and Dressage, was chosen as the location for the event. It was the second time in European Dressage Championship history - after 1999 in Arnhem - that the Netherlands was chosen to hold this sports event. Totilas
Totilas (23 May 200014 December 2020), also known from 2006 to 2011 as Moorlands Totilas, and nicknamed "Toto", was a Dutch Warmblood stallion standing high who was considered to be one of the most outstanding competitive dressage horses in the world, the first horse to score above 90 in dressage competition, and the former holder of the world record for the highest dressage score in Grand Prix Freestyle Dressage. Going into the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG), Moorlands Totilas and his rider, Edward Gal, had amassed multiple world-record scores in international competition, leading one American journalist to call them "rock stars in the horse world". Individual Dressage At The 2011 European Dressage Championships
The individual dressage at the 2011 European Dressage Championships in Rotterdam, The Netherlands was held at Kralingen-Crooswijk from August 17 and August 21, 2011. The Netherlands's Adelinde Cornelissen won the gold medal in the Grand Prix Special and the Grand Prix Freestyle. Carl Hester representing Great Britain won a silver medal the Grand Prix Special and silver in the Grand Prix Freestyle. Laura Bechtolsheimer of Great Britain won a bronze in the Special and Patrik Kittel of Sweden won bronze in the Freestyle. In the Grand Prix Great Britain won the golden team medal, while Germany won the silver medal and The Netherlands bronze. Claudio Castilla Ruiz (born 30 May 1983) is a Spanish Olympic dressage rider. Beatriz Ferrer-Salat Serra de Migui (born March 11, 1966) is an equestrian from Spain who competes internationally in the sport of dressage. She won two Olympic medals, a silver and a bronze, at the 2004 Games, and also competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 2000 Summer Olympics, 2016 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Olympics. Tinne Eva Caroline Vilhelmson-Silfvén (born 12 July 1967 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish horse rider. Representing Sweden, she competed at seven Summer Olympics (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016). She placed 4th in team dressage in 1992, and in team dressage in Beijing in 2008. Meanwhile, her current best individual Olympic placement is 8th place from 2016 Olympics.
