2011 Dublin Super Cup
The 2011 Dublin Super Cup was a two-day pre-season football tournament held at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Ireland. It was held on 30–31 July 2011 and featured Celtic, F.C. Internazionale, Manchester City and a League of Ireland XI, Manchester City emerged as the winners. Tournament rules The format is a single table. Aviva Stadium
Aviva Stadium (also known as Lansdowne Road) is a sports stadium located in Dublin, Ireland, with a capacity for 51,700 spectators (all seated). It is built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road Stadium, which was demolished in 2007, and replaced it as home to its chief tenants: the Irish rugby union team and the Republic of Ireland football team. The decision to redevelop the stadium came after plans for both Stadium Ireland and Eircom Park fell through. Aviva Group Ireland signed a 10-year deal for the naming rights in 2009. The stadium, located beside Lansdowne Road railway station, officially opened on 14 May 2010. Gary Hooper
Gary Hooper (born 26 January 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Cypriot club Omonia. Hooper started his career at League Grays Athletic in 2003. While there he won the 2004–05 Conference South, as well as the FA Trophy twice in 2005 and 2006. After this Championship club Southend United signed him on a free transfer in 2006. He was loaned out twice by the club, on a three-month loan to League One club Leyton Orient in 2007 and a six-month loan to League Two club Hereford United in 2008. Scunthorpe United signed him in 2008, for a fee of £175,000. After two years he was signed by Scottish Premier League club Celtic for £2.4 million. Daniel Patrick "Danny" Lafferty (born 18 May 1989) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a left back for Sligo Rovers. Career Early career Lafferty started his career in the youth team of Oxford United stars before moving on to Celtic in the summer of 2006. Simon Francis Madden (born 1 May 1988) is an Irish former professional footballer who played for Leeds United, Shamrock Rovers over two spells, Darlington, Dundalk, Derry City and St Patrick's Athletic. Owen Heary (born 4 October 1976, in Dublin) is an Irish professional football defender and manager.
