2010–11 SPHL Season
The 2010–11 Southern Professional Hockey League season was the seventh season of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The season began October 21, 2010, and ended April 15, 2011, after a 56-game regular season and a six-team playoff. The Mississippi Surge captured their first SPHL championship. Preseason The Augusta Riverhawks joined the SPHL, after the departure of the city's ECHL franchise two years prior. Regular season Final standings :‡ William B. Southern Professional Hockey League
The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) is a professional ice hockey independent minor league based in Huntersville, North Carolina, with teams located primarily in the southeastern United States as well as Illinois and Indiana in the midwestern United States. Following the 2021-22 season, the Peoria Rivermen are the reigning President's Cup champions. As of 2022, the Knoxville Ice Bears are the most successful team in SPHL history, having won five William B. Coffey Trophies as the regular season champions and four President's Cup playoff championships. The Peoria Rivermen have also won four William B. Coffey Trophies, while Pensacola has also won four President's Cups. History The SPHL's history traces back to three other short-lived leagues. Omar Pacha
ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb ( ar, عمر بن الخطاب, also spelled Omar, ) was the second Rashidun caliph, ruling from August 634 until his assassination in 644. He succeeded Abu Bakr () as the second caliph of the Rashidun Caliphate on 23 August 634. Umar was a senior companion and father-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He was also an expert Muslim jurist known for his pious and just nature, which earned him the epithet ''al-Fārūq'' ("the one who distinguishes (between right and wrong)"). Brad Ralph
Bradley Ralph (born October 17, 1980) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey left winger and is the head coach of the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. He played in one National Hockey League game for the Phoenix Coyotes during the 2000–01 NHL season. Career Ralph was a career minor-leaguer, highlighted by playing one game in the NHL. He skated in the ECHL (for the Mississippi Sea Wolves, Augusta Lynx, Dayton Bombers, Columbia Inferno, and Charlotte Checkers) and American Hockey League (for the Springfield Falcons and Hershey Bears) in the United States, as well as a season each for Alleghe HC in Serie A in Italy and AaB Ishockey in the AL-Bank Ligaen in Denmark. After his playing career, Ralph began coaching hockey, spending two years as head coach for the Augusta RiverHawks in the Southern Professional Hockey League and of the Idaho Steelheads in the ECHL. Augusta ( ), officially Augusta–Richmond County, is a consolidated city-county on the central eastern border of the U.S. state of Georgia.
