2010–11 Australian Bushfire Season
During the summer of 2010–11, a relative lack of bushfires occurred along Eastern Australia due to a very strong La Niña effect, which instead contributed to severe flooding, in particular the 2010–11 Queensland floods and the 2011 Victorian floods. As a result of these weather patterns, most major fire events took place in Western Australia and South Australia. Some later significant fire activity occurred in Gippsland in eastern Victoria, an area which largely missed the rainfall that lead to the flooding in other parts of the state. Bertram is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Kwinana. Bertram derives its name from the family name of a Group Settler of the 1920s who owned land in the area. Orbost
Orbost is a historic early settlers town in the Shire of East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia, Victoria, east of Melbourne and south of Canberra where the Princes Highway crosses the Snowy River. Nowa Nowa
Nowa Nowa is a small town in the Australian state of Victoria. It is in East Gippsland, near Lakes Entrance. At the 2006 census, Nowa Nowa and the surrounding areas including Toorloo Arm had a population of 194. History Nowa Nowa Post Office opened on 11 March 1893, though closed for about five years from 1895 to 1900.
