2010 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2010 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held between March 6 until March 14, 2010 in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Halifax Metro Centre. It marked the sixth time the Brier had been to Halifax, and the second time in eight years, having previously hosted the 2003 Nokia Brier. The 2010 Brier was without its two-time defending champions, the Kevin Martin Alberta rink, which did not participate in playdowns, instead focusing on the 2010 Winter Olympics. 2003 Nokia Brier
The 2003 Nokia Brier was held at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia from March 1–9. The defending champion, Randy Ferbey and his team from Alberta were the winners, winning their third Brier in a row. At the Worlds they went on to represent Canada and win the gold medal. Serge Reid
Serge Reid (born c. 1963) is a Canadian curler from Jonquière, Quebec. Reid is the defending provincial champion skip for Quebec. He and his team of François Gionest, Simon Collin and Steeve Villeneuve won their first provincial championship in 2010. This qualified them for the 2010 Tim Hortons Brier, where they were an unknown team to many of the other competitors. However, they won five of their eleven games, a respectable finish. As of 2014, Reid has played in 16 provincial championships. Reid has won four World Curling Tour events to date. In 2004 he won both the Charlevoix Casino Classic and the Coupe Saguenay de Curling. Jeff Richard
Jeffrey Richard (born March 24, 1979) is a Canadian curler from Kelowna, British Columbia. To date, Richard has won two provincial championships and has made two Brier appearances. In 2010, Richard won the 2010 BC Men's provincial as skip. In 2016, Richard joined Team Geall. Brad Jacobs (curler)
Bradley Robert Jacobs (born June 11, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He is an Olympic champion skip, having led Canada to a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Jacobs is also the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier championship skip and the 2013 World Championship runner-up. He is an eight-time (as of 2017) Northern Ontario provincial champion, and one time provincial junior champion. Jacobs and his team are well known for their physical fitness. Rod MacDonald (curler)
Rod MacDonald (born August 17, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter, novelist, and educator. He was a "big part of the 1980s folk revival in Greenwich Village clubs", performing at the Speakeasy, The Bottom Line, Folk City, and the "Songwriter's Exchange" at the Cornelia Street Cafe. He co-founded the Greenwich Village Folk Festival, now a non-profit, and is still the President and co-producer of its events. Darrell McKee (born c. 1963) is a Canadians, Canadian curling, curler from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He is a Canadian Senior Curling Championships, Canadian Senior Champion, two-time SaskTel Tankard, provincial champion in men's, one-time Saskatchewan mixed champion, and five-time Saskatchewan senior champion. Curling career McKee and Bruce Korte have long been teammates, and together formed teams among the best in Saskatchewan. They have been teammates on and off since 1998. For most of that time, McKee played third for Korte, but beginning in 2009, McKee and Korte switched positions. Brad Gushue
Bradley Raymond Gushue, ONL ( ; born June 16, 1980) is a Canadian curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Gushue, along with teammates Russ Howard, Mark Nichols, Jamie Korab and Mike Adam, represented Canada in curling at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they won the gold medal by defeating Finland 10–4. He also represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics, where he won a bronze medal. Jeff Stoughton
Jeffrey R. "Jeff" Stoughton (born July 26, 1963) is a Canadian retired curler. He is a three-time Brier champion and two-time World champion as skip. Stoughton retired from competitive curling in 2015. He is one of the most successful Manitoba skips in curling history, and one of the most successful players in Canadian curling history. He is currently the National Men's Coach and Program Manager for Curling Canada, as well as being the head coach of the Canadian Mixed Doubles National Team. James Grattan (curler)
James Grattan, nicknamed "Jimmy the Kid" (born July 28, 1974 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Oromocto, New Brunswick. He currently skips his own team. Career Grattan's best personal result as a skip at the Brier is third place (). In 2002–2004 he played third for Russ Howard. He skipped again in (5–6 in Regina), after defeating Dan Sherrard in the New Brunswick Tankard final, and (2–9 Winnipeg), after defeating Jeremy Mallais in the provincial final. Russ Howard
Russell W. "Russ" Howard, CM, ONL (born February 19, 1956 in Midland, Ontario) is a Canadian curler and Olympic champion, based in Regina, Saskatchewan, but originally from Midland, Ontario. He lived in Moncton, New Brunswick from 2000 to 2019. Known for his gravelly voice, Howard has been to the Brier 14 times (8 as Ontario, 6 as New Brunswick), winning the title twice (both as Ontario). He is also a two-time world champion, winning in 1987 and 1993. He has also won three TSN Skins Games in 1991, 1992, and 1993, and participated in two Canadian Mixed Curling Championships in 2000 and 2001. Jamie Koe
Jamie Koe (born November 3, 1977 in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories) is a Canadian curler. He has played in 14 Briers, representing the Northwest Territories/Yukon team and three Briers representing just the Northwest Territories. At the 2012 Brier, he became the first skip from Canada's north to make the playoffs at the Brier since the addition of the playoffs in 1980. He is the younger brother of Alberta curler Kevin Koe and twin brother of Territories champion Kerry Galusha. Career Junior career Koe played in five straight Canadian Junior Curling Championships, from 1994 to 1998.
