The 2010 Seattle Mariners season was the List of Seattle Mariners seasons, 34th season in franchise history. The Mariners finished the season with 61 wins and 101 losses. As the 2010 Texas Rangers season, Texas Rangers won their first pennant that season, the Mariners became one of only two teams to have never played in the World Series, along with the 2010 Washington Nationals season, Washington Nationals. Offseason Coaching staff changes Most of the 2009 major league coaching staff was retained, with the exception of third base coach Bruce Hines. Rick Rizzs
Rick Rizzs (born November 17, 1953) is an American sportscaster and is the lead radio voice for Major League Baseball's Seattle Mariners. Early life and career Rizzs is from Blue Island, Illinois, where he attended Eisenhower High School, and he is a 1975 graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. From 1975 to 1980, he handled baseball play-by-play duties at the double-A level for Alexandria, Louisiana, Amarillo, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee. He became the sports director at WBNS radio in Columbus, Ohio in 1981, where he called Ohio State football and triple-A baseball for two seasons. He was named the Ohio "Sportscaster of the Year" in 1981 by the Ohio Sportscasters Association. Catcher
Catcher is a position in baseball and softball. When a batter takes their turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the ( home) umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. In addition to this primary duty, the catcher is also called upon to master many other skills in order to field the position well. The role of the catcher is similar to that of the wicket-keeper in cricket. Positioned behind home plate and facing toward the outfield, the catcher can see the whole field, and is therefore in the best position to direct and lead the other players in a defensive play. Andy Fox
Andrew Junipero Fox (born January 12, 1971) is an American professional baseball coach and a former infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1996 to 2004 for five different teams. He currently serves on the coaching staff of the Boston Red Sox as their major league field coordinator. Playing career Fox, a second round draft pick, graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento. He attended St. Mary, a Catholic school, in Sacramento for grades k-8. In Major League Baseball, he played for the New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks, Florida Marlins, Texas Rangers, and Montreal Expos. West Tenn Diamond Jaxx
The Jackson Generals were a professional baseball team located in Jackson, Tennessee. From 1998 to 2020, they were a part of Minor League Baseball's Southern League (SL) as the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs (1998–2006), Seattle Mariners (2007–2016), and Arizona Diamondbacks (2017–2020). Known as the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx from 1998 to 2010, the team borrowed its Generals moniker from the original Jackson Generals in 2011. Timothy John Laker (born November 27, 1969) is an American professional baseball catcher and coach. He was most recently the hitting coach for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for the Montreal Expos, Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Cleveland Indians from 1992 through 2006. The Clinton LumberKings are a collegiate summer baseball team of the Prospect League. They are located in Clinton, Iowa, and play their home games at NelsonCorp Field. From 1956 to 2020, they were members of Minor League Baseball's Midwest League. Mike Brumley (infielder)
Anthony Michael Brumley (born April 9, 1963) is an American former professional baseball utility player in Major League Baseball (MLB), who played primarily as a shortstop. He played from 1987 through 1995 for the Cubs (1987), Detroit Tigers (1989), Seattle Mariners (1990), Boston Red Sox (1991–1992), Houston Astros (1993, 1995) and Oakland Athletics (1994). Brumley was a switch-hitter and threw right-handed. He was the assistant hitting coach for the Chicago Cubs in 2014. He is the son of the catcher Mike Brumley. Bruce Hines
Bruce Edwin Hines (born November 7, 1957) is an American former professional baseball coach and former minor league player. Career As a player, Hines was a switch hitter who primarily played second base. He attended Bonita High School in La Verne, California, and played college baseball for the University of La Verne. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 15th round of the 1979 amateur draft, but returned to La Verne where he was named First Team All-SCIAC in 1980. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 18th round of the 1980 amateur draft, but his playing career peaked at the high-A level. He managed teams in the California/Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics minor league systems, and worked as minor-league field coordinator for the Angels before being named the third base coach for the Seattle Mariners.
