2010 Ironman 70.3 World Championship
The 2010 Ironman 70.3 World Championship was a triathlon competition held in Clearwater, Florida on November 13, 2010. It was sponsored by Foster Grant and organized by the World Triathlon Corporation. The championship race was the culmination of the Ironman 70.3 series of events that occurred from October 2009 to September 2010. Athletes, both professional and amateur, earned a spot in the championship race by qualifying in races throughout the 70.3 series. The 2010 Championship was won by Michael Raelert of Germany and Jodie Swallow of Great Britain. This year marked the end of the Championship race being in Clearwater, Florida; which the city has hosted for five years. The Championship race moves to Henderson, Nevada, a suburb of Las Vegas, Nevada in 2011. A triathlon is an endurance multisport race consisting of Swimming (sport), swimming, Cycle sport, cycling, and running over various distances. Daniel Fontana
Daniel Monzoro Fontana (born December 31, 1975, in General Roca, Río Negro) is an Argentine-born Italian professional triathlete. Fontana started out as a swimmer in Argentina, until he began his triathlon career in 1994, while racing for his homeland. He first competed at two Pan-American Games (1999 and 2003), and at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, as part of the Argentina team, where he placed twenty-eighth in the men's triathlon, with a time of 1:57:14. In 2006, Fontana relocated to Italy, and became a naturalized citizen to take his athletic abilities to a higher level. At the peak of his career, Fontana has won seven titles in triathlon, four for Argentina and the other three for Italy. He had also achieved three top fifteen placements at the World Olympic Distance, including his eighth-place finish in 2005, which considered highest by an Italian male. Ironman World Championship
The Ironman World Championship has been held annually in Hawaii since 1978, with an additional race in 1982. It is owned and organized by the World Triathlon Corporation. It is the annual culmination of a series of Ironman triathlon qualification races held throughout the world. History From 1978 through 1980 the race was held on the island of Oahu, the course combining that of three events already held there: the Waikiki Roughwater Swim (2.4 mi./3.86 km), the Around-Oahu Bike Race (115 mi./185.07 km, originally a two-day event), and the Honolulu Marathon. Emma-Kate Lidbury
EK or Emma-Kate Lidbury is a female British professional triathlete who currently resides in Boulder, Colorado. She previously lived in Los Angeles, California. She began training for triathlons in 2005 and decided to devote her full-time to the sport in the fall of 2008. She specialized at the Ironman 70.3 distance, winning her first titles in 2011 at 70.3 Mallorca, 70.3 UK and 70.3 Augusta. In 2012 she successfully defended her title at 70.3 Mallorca. In 2013 she had two 1st-place finishes, one at Ironman 70.3 Texas and the other at Ironman 70.3 Kansas. Nina Kraft
Nina Kraft (31 December 1968 – 17 August 2020) was a German professional triathlete from Braunschweig. Career Kraft worked as a drafter until 1998, when she became a full-time professional athlete. In addition to being a pro triathlete Kraft was also an artist. On her website she states that she "uses art to help her switch off and relax." 2004 Ironman World Championship Following her win at Ironman Germany in July 2004 Kraft crossed the finish line in first place a few months later in October at the Ironman World Championship as the apparent Ironman World Champion. However, a month after being declared the winner, Kraft tested positive for Erythropoietin, better known as EPO. Julie Claire Dibens (born 4 March 1975 in Salisbury, England) is a former professional triathlete. She represented Great Britain in the 2004 Summer Olympics and has won the 2009 Ironman 70.3 World Championship as well as the XTERRA Triathlon World Champion in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Dibens retired as a professional triathlete and is now a full time triathlon coach. She lives in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Heather Jackson (born April 24, 1984) is an American triathlete and track cyclist. She is the runner-up of the 2013 Ironman 70.3 World Championship and the third-place finisher at the 2012 Ironman 70.3 World Championship. Magali Tisseyre (born October 27, 1981) is a Canadian triathlete from Montreal who races primarily in long distance, non-drafting triathlon events. She took third place at both the 2009 and 2010 Ironman 70.3 World Championships. Career Tisseyre studied kinesiology at Laval University and went on to obtain her master's degree in biomechanics at McGill University.
