2010 FIBA World Championship Squads
The 2010 FIBA World Championship included 24 teams that competed in Turkey between August 28 and September 12, 2010. Each team selected a squad of 12 players for the tournament. Final squads for the tournament were due on August 26, two days before the start of competition. Angola and the United States were the only teams made up of entirely domestic players (Jordan and Russia each had 11 domestic players). Slovenia and Canada were the only teams composed entirely of players playing outside the domestic league, although at the time of the tournament Canada had no pro league exclusive to the country, instead competing in several U.S.-Canada cross-border professional and semi-professional leagues. Forty-one National Basketball Association players were selected to compete in the tournament, the most of any league. 2010 FIBA World Championship
The 2010 FIBA World Championship was the 16th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship contested by the men's national teams. The tournament ran from 28 August to 12 September 2010. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkish Basketball Federation and the 2010 Organising Committee. It was considered as prestigious a competition as the Olympic Basketball Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Turkey. For the third time (after the 1986 and 2006 tournaments), the World Championship had 24 competing nations. As a result, the group stage games were played in four cities, and the knockout round was hosted by Istanbul. The United States won the tournament for their fourth time after going undefeated in the Opening Round and beating host Turkey in the final. Primeiro De Agosto Basketball
Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto is an Angolan men's basketball team based in Luanda. The team is part of the multi-sports club with the same name. The club is attached to the Angolan Armed Forces which is its main sponsor. The team competes at the local level at the Luanda Provincial Basketball Championship and at the BIC Basket. In the past, it has played in the Africa Basketball League competitions. Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets are an American professional basketball team based in Houston. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member team of the league's Western Conference Southwest Division. Luis Alberto Scola Balvoa (born April 30, 1980) is an Argentine former professional basketball player and current executive who currently serves as the chief executive officer for the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) team Pallacanestro Varese. Miguel Pontes Timóteo Lutonda, 186 cm/´6'1", 78 kg/72 lbs, (born December 24, 1971) is a retired Angolan professional basketball point guard. For two consecutive years: 2001 and 2002, he received the Angola Sportsman of the Year Award. He is a two-time FIBA Africa Championship MVP, having won such title in 2001 and 2003. He was also voted MVP at the 2003 Angolan league. Carlos Domingues Bendinha de Almeida (born 24 September 1976) is an Angolan professional basketball shooting guard and a member of the Angola national basketball team. He is in height and 91 kg (200 pounds) in weight. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall.
