2010 Damallsvenskan
The 2010 Damallsvenskan was the 23rd season of the Damallsvenskan, the highest level of women's football in Sweden. The season ran from 3 April to 16 October, the second-latest start to a season ever. Linköpings FC were the reigning champions, but the former Swedish champions Jitex were back after three years away. Tyresö FF were promoted from the 1st division North, and played in the Damallsvenskan for the first time since 1999. LdB FC from Malmö secured the title with three of the 22 games to play, after a 1–1 draw with Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC. This was the first title for Malmö since 1994. LdB FC won 18 of their first 20 games in an incredible season, and with 59 points, had the best season for any club since Umeå IK in 2007. The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place. Starting with the 2022 season the league has been expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The first Swedish women's national championship was played in 1973. Since its inception, the Damallsvenskan has featured star players like Marta, Daniela, Nadine Angerer, Lisa De Vanna, Hope Solo, Christen Press, and Hanna Ljungberg. Kathryn Gill
Kathryn Anne "Kate" Gill (born 10 December 1984) is an Australian soccer player who played the majority of her career in Australia, in the Women's National Soccer League (WNSL) and the W-League. She also played in Sweden in the Damallsvenskan. Between 2004 and 2015, Gill played 86 matches for the Australia women's national soccer team. She is a striker that is strong in the air and on the ball and possesses great finishing and first touch. Born in New Zealand and schooled in Australia, Gill graduated from Hunter Valley Grammar School in 2002. Playing career Club career Gill played for the Northern NSW Pride in the Australian Women's National Soccer League. In 2008, Gill played for the Newcastle Jets in the W-League, before moving to Sweden where she played with Sunnanå SK of Skellefteå in the Damallsvenskan league during 2009. Division 1 (Swedish Women's Football)
Division 1 ( sv, Division 1 i fotboll för damer) is the third level in the league system of Swedish women's football and has six sections with 12 football teams in each. From 1978 to 1987, when the Damallsvenskan was created, it was the highest level of football in Sweden. Until 2013, when the Elitettan was created, it was the second highest level. 2011–12 UEFA Women's Champions League
The 2011−12 UEFA Women's Champions League was the eleventh edition of the European women's championship for football clubs. The final was held in the Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany on 17 May 2012. As in the past two Champions League seasons, the eight highest ranked nations got two entries to the tournament. The point of entry was changed this season however. In the previous years the national runners-up had to enter the qualification round. With those teams always easing through their groups, with the exception of Umeå in 2010–11, UEFA decided to give those a direct entry to the round of 32. As a result, eight nations which under previous rules would have had direct entry to that round now had to go through the qualifying stage. Kristianstads DFF
Kristianstads DFF is a women's association football club from Kristianstad, Sweden. The club is affiliated to the Skånes Fotbollförbund. History The original club Wä IF played in from 1989 to 1994 in the Damallsvenskan. The club was reformed in 1998 when Kristianstads FF merged with Wä IF to become Kristianstad / Wä DFF. The team continued as Kristianstad / Wä DFF during the seasons of 1999 until 2001 in the Damallsvenskan. In 2006 was the club was renamed again to the current name Kristianstads DFF. Prominent players to have represented the club include Malin Andersson, Therese Sjögran, Sara Johansson and Nilla Fischer. In 2005 the team finished third in the Söderettan, before winning the Söderettan unbeaten in 2008 and clinching promotion to the Damallsvenskan. KIF Örebro DFF is a Swedish women's football club based in Örebro. Founded in 1980 as the women's football section of multi-sports association Karlslunds IF, the club's first team currently plays in the Damallsvenskan, the top level of the women's football pyramid in Sweden. The club also operates two reserve teams at the under-19 and under-17 levels, as well as a youth academy. Hammarby IF Fotbollförening, commonly known as Hammarby IF, Hammarby Fotboll or simply Hammarby ( or, especially locally, ), is a women's football club from Stockholm founded in 1970. AIK Fotboll Damer is a Swedish women's association football club from Stockholm, currently competing in the Damallsvenskan. The team, a section of AIK, is affiliated to the Stockholms Fotbollförbund and plays in the Skytteholms IP in Solna, Stockholm. Founded in 1970, AIK first earned promotion to the Damallsvenskan in 1992, and avoided relegation for two seasons before ending second to last in 1995. A decade passed before the team was back for the 2005 season. AIK was promptly relegated but earned its third promotion the next year. The following years marked the team's major successes yet, with AIK reaching the national Cup's final in 2007, which they lost 4–3 against Umeå IK, and ending 4th in 2008.
