2010 Centrobasket
The 2010 Men's Central American and Caribbean Basketball Championship, also known as 2010 Centrobasket, was hosted in the Dominican Republic. This edition was the first time that the Centrobasket featured ten teams in the finals; previously, eight teams had qualified. Puerto Rico won the title with an 89-80 victory over Dominican Republic. Panama captured the bronze medal with a 75-74 victory over Cuba. Carlos Arroyo
Carlos Alberto Arroyo Bermúdez (born July 30, 1979) is a Puerto Rican former professional basketball player, and reggaeton singer. Arroyo had previously played in the National Basketball Association with the Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics. In the 2008–09 season, he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, winning the league's championship, and being named the Final's Most Valuable Player. In 2009 he also was the Israeli Premier League Assists Leader. He has also played professionally in Puerto Rico, Spain, and Turkey. Arroyo was a member of the senior Puerto Rican national basketball team that defeated the United States at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. Gyno Pomare
Leonardo "Gyno" Pomare (born April 5, 1986) is an American-Panamanian professional basketball player. He is last played professionally with the Yamagata Wyverns of the B.League College career Pomare was a four-year player with the University of San Diego. He originally committed to the Toreros out of El Camino High School for the 2004 season, but sat out the 2004-05 season as a redshirt. In his first full season with the school, 2005–06, he averaged 10.4 points and 5 rebounds per game en route to being named to the All-West Coast Conference Freshman Team. Pomare had a prolific career with the Toreros, eventually ending as the school's all-time leading scorer. He was the first player San Diego player since Scott Thompson (1985–87) to be named to the All-Conference Team three times.
