The 2010 British National Track Championships were a series of track cycling competitions held from 21 to 25 September 2010 at the Manchester Velodrome. They are organised and sanctioned by British Cycling, and were open to British cyclists. Chris Pritchard (cyclist)
Chris Pritchard (born 2 January 1983) was a professional cyclist who has competed on the track and the road. Born in Sheffield, England, Pritchard took up competitive cycling at the age of 25 after previously racing motorcycles. He moved to the Cycle Premier Race Team in 2012 after a season blighted with injury for in 2011. He subsequently joined the Glasgow Life Track Cycling Team in September 2013. Pritchard represented Scotland at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he attracted attention for proposing to his girlfriend immediately after finishing his final race in the keirin competition. Sir Benjamin William Elliot (born 11 August 1975) is a British businessman and fund-raiser for the Conservative Party who served as Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party from July 2019 alongside James Cleverly (2019–2020), Amanda Milling (2020–2021), Oliver Dowden (2021–2022), and Andrew Stephenson (2022) before resigning on 5 September 2022. In 2018, Elliot was appointed by Michael Gove, the Secretary of State for the Environment, as the UK government's first Food Surplus and Waste Champion. British National Team Pursuit Championships
The British National Team Pursuit Championships are held annually as part of the British National Track Championships organized by British Cycling. Prior to 1996, there were two separate team pursuit championship events for amateur and professional riders. A women's championship was later added, competing over a shorter 3 km distance with three riders, until 2013 when this was increased to 4 km with 4 riders as in the men's event. Sam Harrison (cyclist)
Samuel James Harrison (born 24 June 1992) is a Welsh racing cyclist. He has twice won medals at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, in 2011, and 2013. Cycling career Harrison is from Risca, Newport. He tried cycling after hearing his friends saying that Newport Velodrome was fun, and at the age of 13 he was soon racing with the local club, Cwmcarn Paragon. He was selected to be a member of British Cycling's Olympic Development Programme in 2008. Harrison was nominated for the BBC's Young Sports Personality award in 2008, after winning three titles in the youth competition of the British National Track Championships. In February 2009, he was selected to represent Great Britain at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. George Atkins (cyclist)
George Richard Atkins (born 18 August 1991) is a British former track and road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2014 and 2016. He was a member of British Cycling's Olympic Development Programme. In 2009 he won the junior race at the British National Road Race Championships. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games he won the silver medal in the track points race. After the Commonwealth Games Atkins took a break from the sport but returned in the summer of 2011. Peter Kennaugh
Peter Robert Kennaugh MBE (born 15 June 1989) is a Manx former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2010 and 2019 for and . In 2012 he won the gold medal as part of the Great Britain Team Pursuit team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, becoming the first Manxman in 100 years to win gold. On 5 April 2019, he announced that he was taking an indefinite break from professional cycling to focus on his mental health. Jody Alan Cundy, (born 14 October 1978) is an English cyclist and former swimmer. He has represented Great Britain at seven Summer Paralympics winning eight Gold, one Silver and three Bronze medals across swimming and cycling events. He has also competed in multiple World Championships, winning 22 world titles (19 in Cycling and 3 in Swimming.) Callum Skinner
Callum Skinner (born 20 August 1992) is a British former track cyclist. He won the silver medal in the individual sprint at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and was a member of the British team that won gold in the team sprint. Early life Skinner was born to mother Judith and father Scott, the elder of two boys with a younger brother, Roy in Glasgow, Scotland. He moved to Bruntsfield, Edinburgh at the age of 12 and attended James Gillespie's High School. His academic career was hampered by dyslexia. He took up cycling in 2004, inspired by Chris Hoy's success in the sport at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. In 2008 he was national youth champion and broke Hoy's British 200m record for his age group.
