2009–10 Figure Skating Season
The 2009–10 figure skating season began on 1 July 2009, and ended on 30 June 2010. During this season, elite skaters competed at the Olympic level at the 2010 Winter Olympics, on the ISU Championship level at the 2010 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. They also competed in elite competitions such as the 2009–10 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Season notes It was the final season in which the compulsory dance and the original dance were contested in ice dance. Following this season, the International Skating Union instituted the short dance. Isabelle Delobel competed at the Olympics with partner Olivier Schoenfelder just four-and-a-half months after giving birth. The 2008–09 figure skating season began on July 1, 2008, and ended on June 30, 2009. Tatiana Volosozhar
Tatiana Andreyеvna Volosozhar (russian: Татьяна Андреевна Волосожар, uk, Тетяна Андріївна Волосожар; born 22 May 1986) is a Ukrainian-born Russian pair skater. With Maxim Trankov, she is the two-time 2014 Olympic champion in the pairs and in team events, the 2013 World champion, a four-time (2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016) European champion, the 2012 Grand Prix Final champion, and a three-time (2011, 2013 and 2016) Russian national champion. They have also won six events on the Grand Prix series. Volosozhar competed for Ukraine with Petr Kharchenko in 2000–04 and with Stanislav Morozov in 2004–10. She and Morozov are four-time Ukrainian national champions (2005, 2007, 2008 and 2010) and finished as high as fourth at the World Championships. Anabelle Langlois
Anabelle Langlois (born July 21, 1981) is a Canadian pair skater. She is the 2008 Canadian Figure Skating Championships with Cody Hay and the 2002 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships silver medallist with Patrice Archetto. Career Langlois teamed up with Patrice Archetto in 1998. She fractured her skull as a result of a fall on a throw jump at the 1998 Canadian Championships. She wore a hockey helmet for six months afterward. Langlois/Archetto won the silver medal at the 2002 Four Continents Championships, five Grand Prix medals, and five Canadian national medals. Jan Ullmark coached the pair in Edmonton. Their partnership ended when Archetto retired from competition in 2005. Langlois teamed up with Cody Hay in 2005. Jérôme Blanchard
Jérôme Blanchard (born 20 July 1981) is a French former pair skater. With Sabrina Lefrançois, he is the 2004 French national champion. He also competed for one season with Maria Mukhortova. Career With partner Sabrina Lefrançois, he won the gold medal at the 2004 French Figure Skating Championships. She retired due to injury. He later trained with Rinata Araslanova. In mid-2007, he began skating with Valeria Vorobieva. The French skating federation was reluctant to release Blanchard but after a long battle he was free to skate with Vorobieva for Russia. However, they did not compete in any international events and their partnership dissolved. Blanchard then skated in Russian ice shows. Isabella Tobias
Isabella Tobias (born August 23, 1991) is an American-born Israeli ice dancer who competes with Ilia Tkachenko. Together they have won four medals on the ISU Challenger Series. Earlier in her career, Tobias skated with Otar Japaridze for Georgia and with Deividas Stagniūnas for Lithuania. With Stagniūnas, she won the bronze medal at the 2011 Skate America, placed in the top ten at two European Championships, and represented Lithuania at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Deividas Stagniūnas
Deividas Stagniūnas (born 28 April 1985) is a Lithuanian former ice dancer. With Isabella Tobias, he is the 2011 Skate America bronze medalist and placed in the top ten at two European Championships. They represented Lithuania at the 2014 Winter Olympics, where Stagniūnas was the flagbearer. Career Early years Stagniūnas began skating at age five. He moved to the United States at age 15 to skate with a partner. Early in his career, Stagniūnas was coached by Walter Wielunski and Natalia Dubova, who trained him in ice dancing. Katherine Leigh Copely, M.D. (born January 9, 1988) is a former American-born Ice Dancer who competed internationally for Lithuania. With partner Deividas Stagniūnas, she is the 4 time Lithuanian National Champion with Bronze Medals at both Golden Spin of Zagreb and Nebelhorn Trophy. Together they qualified for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada after placing in the top 20 at the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships in Los Angeles, California. Fedor Vladimirovich Andreev (russian: Фёдор Владимирович Андреев, born March 2, 1982) is a former figure skater with dual Russian and Canadian citizenship. In single skating, he is the 2003 Canadian bronze medalist and the 1999 junior national champion. Sergei Nikolayevich Novitski (russian: Серге́й Никола́евич Нови́цкий, born 16 May 1981) is a Russian former competitive ice dancer. He skated with Jana Khokhlova until April 2010. Jana Vadimovna Khokhlova (russian: Яна Вадимовна Хохлова, born 7 October 1985) is a Russian former competitive ice dancer. She is best known for her partnership with Sergei Novitski, with whom she is the 2008 World bronze medalist, 2009 European champion, and a two-time (2008–09) Russian national champion.
