2009–10 A-League
The 2009–10 A-League was the 33rd season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the fifth season of the A-League competition since its establishment in 2004. The season marked the addition of two new teams from Queensland. Gold Coast United FC and the North Queensland Fury FC made their A-League debuts at the start of the season. Because of this, Queensland Roar were renamed to Brisbane Roar, as they were no longer the only A-League club from Queensland. With the inception of the two new clubs, many club transfers took place both within Australia and New Zealand, and around the world. The length of the regular season was longer than in previous years, with 27 rounds rather than 21, plus finals. Labinot Haliti (born 26 October 1985) is an Australian former professional footballer who played as a second striker or winger. Early life Haliti's was born in Pristina, and fled his home country at the age of 14 with his family, arriving in Australia in 1999, where they settled in Sydney. Joel Griffiths
Joel Griffiths (born 21 August 1979) is an Australian professional football manager who currently serves as the manager of Newcastle Olympic FC for National Premier Leagues Northern NSW and retired professional footballer striker. Kaz Patafta
Kaz Phonesak Patafta (born 25 October 1988) is a former Australian professional footballer. Patafta previously played as a midfielder for Benfica, Melbourne Victory, Newcastle Jets and Khon Kaen United F.C. Brodie Mooy
Brodie Mooy (born 19 June 1990) is an Australian footballer who last played for West Ryde Rovers. Club career Brodie is a graduate of the NSW Institute of Sport. On 9 January 2008 he made his senior debut for the Jets against Adelaide United mostly due to a large contingent of players unavailable for selection due to injury. Neil Young (born 14 August 1979) is a retired goalkeeper who played for Sorrento FC, Melbourne Knights, Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory. He was previously the Head Goalkeeper Coach of A-League club Melbourne City FC. Club career Sorrento FC Young played for the majority of his career in the Football West State League with Sorrento FC. Jason Naidovski
Jason Naidovski (born 19 July 1989) is an Australian footballer. Biography Jason previously played for the Australian Institute of Sport in the Victorian Premier League. He scored a hat-trick against the Fawkner Blues in his final game for the AIS. Naidovski made his mark on the A-League scene scoring a late winner against Wellington Phoenix in Round 1 of the 2009–10 A-League season. Fellow Jets' striker Sean Rooney crossed the ball into Naidovski who neatly headed the ball into the bottom corner of the net. In September 2014 Jason announced his retirement at 25. Marko Jesic (born 7 August 1989 in Fairfield, New South Wales) is an Australian football player of Serbian descent who plays for Marconi Stallions FC. Club career Jesic grew up on the streets of Bossley Park in Sydney's south west and was promoted to the Newcastle Jets A-League squad after playing in the youth league. Jesic is a graduate from the Australian Institute of Sport. Newcastle United Jets Marko started his football career at AIS. Jason Hoffman (born 28 January 1989) is an Australian association football player who plays as a right back for the Newcastle Jets in the A-League.Jason is the most capped player in Newcastle Jets History. Sean Rooney (born 1 March 1989) is an Australian footballer who plays for Blacktown City. Club career Rooney started his A-League career playing in the Youth League with Sydney FC.
