The 2009–10 season was the 99th season in Hajduk Split’s history and their nineteenth in the Prva HNL. Their 2nd place finish in the 2008–09 season meant it was their 19th successive season playing in the Prva HNL. HNK Hajduk Split
Hrvatski nogometni klub Hajduk Split, commonly referred to as Hajduk Split () or simply Hajduk, is a Croatian professional football club based in Split, that competes in the Croatian First League, the top tier in Croatian football. Since 1979, the club's home ground has been the 34,198-seater Stadion Poljud. The team's traditional home colours are white shirts with blue shorts and blue socks. The idea to form a football club was started by group of Split students who were studying in Prague. After observing a game between Slavia and Sparta Prague, the group gathered at the U Fleků tavern and talked of creating a football club at home. When they returned to Split, they put their plan in motion and Hajduk was founded on 13 February 1911. Between the early 1920s and 1940, Hajduk regularly participated in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia national championship. Mario Sačer (born 17 November 1990 in Varaždin) is a Croatian football striker who plays for Draskovec after spending several seasons at NK Varaždin. Career Sačer started playing football at 6 years of age for his hometown club Drava Sveti Đurđ, moving soon to Podravina in nearby Ludbreg and finally joining the youth ranks of Varteks in 2000. Marin Tomasov
Marin Tomasov (born 31 August 1987) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a winger or an attacking midfielder for Kazakhstan Premier League club Astana. Club career Coming from the village of Dobropoljana, on the island of Pašman, Tomasov entered the youth ranks of NK Sveti Mihovil, on the neighboring island of Ugljan, which represents both islands. Some years after, Tomasov was brought up through the NK Zadar youth academy and in 2006 he signed a professional contract with the senior team and was assigned the number 14 jersey. Ante Vukušić (; born 4 June 1991) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Serbian SuperLiga club Kolubara. Club career Vukušić started his career playing at youth level for his hometown club Junak Sinj. He joined Hajduk Split in 2007, and during his time at their youth academy was regarded as one of the most promising players. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. Srđan Andrić
Srđan Andrić (born 5 January 1980) is a Croatian former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He was most recently the youth academy director of Hajduk Split. Club career Andrić started his career with Croatia's Hajduk Split. He made his debut for the club in the 1999–2000 Prva HNL aged 19 years old. He spent the next four seasons at Hajduk, becoming the captain for the 2003-04 season. Andric then moved to Greek giants Panathinaikos in 2004 in a deal worth €150k. He was released from Panathinaikos upon the expiration of his contract in May 2007, before rejoining Hajduk. He quickly became club captain again after the departure of Mirko Hrgović. Ahmad Sharbini ( ar, أحمد الشربيني; born 21 February 1984) is a Croatian football executive and director of NK Rječina and former professional player who played as a striker. Club career Ahmad Sharbini began his professional career with HNK Rijeka in the Croatian Prva HNL in January 2003, when he signed his first professional contract. Krešo Ljubičić (born 26 September 1988) is a footballer. He is a player-coach with German fifth-tier Hessenliga club Hanau 93. Born in Germany, he represented Croatia at various youth international levels up to the under-21s. Hrvoje Vejić (born 8th June, 1977) is a Croatian retired footballer who is the president of NK Jadran Luka Ploče. He plays at the center-back position.
