2009 Brunei Premier League season (known as DST Group Brunei Premier League for sponsorship reasons, (Malay: DST GROUP LIGA PERDANA BRUNEI) was the sixth since its establishment in 2002. It was scheduled to begin on 25 May 2009. The season kicked off on 23 May 2009 with a Champions Cup between the defending league champions QAF FC and FA Cup holders MS ABDB. DST Group Brunei Premier League ( ms, DST GROUP LIGA PERDANA BRUNEI) was the top-tier football league of Brunei until 2012, when it became the second tier of the football pyramid of Brunei with the creation of the Brunei Super League by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam. History From 1985 to 1993, the champions of the four districts ( Belait, Brunei-Muara, Temburong, Tutong) entered into the National Championship playoff. The tournament was not played between 1994 and 2001. The Brunei Premier League was created in 2002, and it was the top-tier league until 2012, when it was replaced by the Brunei Super League. From 2014 until 2019 it was made into a second tier competition. Indera Sports Club (; abbrev: ISC), formerly Kilat FC and Indera Football Association, is a multi-sports club based in Brunei, mostly known for its association football team. History Early years Kilat FC was founded in 1970 by nobleman Pengiran Anak Hassanuddin Al-Haj bin Pengiran Anak Safiuddin with his siblings, and was based in Kilanas. The club underwent several name changes Indera Football Association and Indera Football Club. Over the years they became an established force in the local football scene, winning district-level championships in the seventies and eighties.
