2009 Women's World Open Squash Championship
The 2009 Women's World Open Squash Championship is the women's edition of the World Open, which serves as the individual world championship for squash players. The championship is part of the WISPA Platinum series of the Women's International Squash Players' Association (WISPA) World Tour. The event took place in Amsterdam in the Netherlands from 20 to 27 September 2009. Kasey Brown (born 1 August 1985) is a former professional squash player from Australia. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 5 in December 2011. Career Brown was born in Taree, New South Wales was the Australian junior champion in 2003 and 2004 and was then the senior champion in 2006 and in the same year also won the Australian Open title. Brown was coached by Rodney Martin and was based in Greenwich, Connecticut. During 2006, she won five WISPA events in Australia as well as the Central Open in New Zealand. Latasha Khan
Latasha Khan (born January 20, 1973 in Seattle) is a professional female squash player who has represented the United States in international competition. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 18 in January 2000. She started to play at the age of 9. She earned a team and individual gold medal at the 2003 Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. With 3,410 points on the international points table in September 2009, she was ranked No. 28 in the international circuit. She is a right handed player. Joshna Chinappa
Joshna Chinappa (born 15 September 1986) is an Indian professional squash player. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 10 in July 2016. She was the first Indian to win the British Junior Squash Championship title in 2005 in the under-19 category and was also the youngest Indian women's national champion. She is the current record-holder of most national championship wins, with 18 titles. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games Joshna, along with Dipika Pallikal Karthik, won the squash women's doubles gold medal, India's first-ever Commonwealth Games medal in the sport. Sarah Campion (born 10 May 1983 in Chester), also known by her former name Sarah Kippax, is former professional squash player who represented England Career Based in Halifax became the first English woman in almost ten years to win three successive women's world tour titles when she clinched the Malco Open in Sweden in March 2009. Engy Kheirallah is a professional squash player from Egypt. She was born on 5 December 1981. She was ranked 33 in May 2011 and reached a career high of no. 11 in July 2010. Engy came to the fore in 1999 when she, Omneya Abdel Kawy and Eman El Amir captured the World Junior Team title, herself having been a semi finalist in the Individual event. By 2002 she had broken into the World Top 30, but it was not until 2005 when she began to move forward more steadily than occasional match wins. Career As a junior player, Camille Serme won three European Junior Championship titles in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Samantha Terán Quintanilla (born May 6, 1981, in Mexico City) is a professional female squash player who represents Mexico. Teran first joined the WISPA Tour in 2000, and she entered the world top twenty for the first time in 2008 as she won the eighth and ninth Tour titles of her career. These followed two in 2007, the Gannon Open and Toronto Open, in both events beating American Latasha Khan in the final. In early 2008 it was Khan who was despatched in the finals of the Liberty Bell and Windy City Opens in the United States. The Mexican did it again in May to win the Subway Goshen Open, but this time Khan was beaten in the semis. Jaclyn Hawkes
Jaclyn Hawkes (born 3 December 1982 in Hong Kong) is a New Zealand professional squash (sport), squash player. Hawkes grew up in Hong Kong and lived there until she was 15 when she moved to New Zealand. She started playing squash aged five because her mother Julie Hawkes was a New Zealand representative and is an ex-World Masters champion. While Hawkes played squash when she was younger she was much more keen on playing tennis (her father Richard Hawkes (tennis), Richard was a Davis Cup player for New Zealand), hockey and netball. However, when she moved to New Zealand she made the New Zealand Junior team and travelled to Antwerp for the World Juniors in 1997 and really began to enjoy playing squash.
