2009 North Carolina Tar Heels Football Team
The 2009 North Carolina Tar Heels football team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a member of Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) during the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by third-year head coach Butch Davis, the Tar Heels played their home games at Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. North Carolina finished the season 8–5 overall and 4–4 in ACC play to place fourth in the Coastal Division. The Tar Heels lost to Pittsburgh in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. In 2011, North Carolina vacated all its wins from the 2008 season and 2009 seasons. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference located in the eastern United States. Brooks Foster
Brooks Foster (born April 9, 1986) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at North Carolina. High school Foster attended Boiling Springs High School in South Carolina. He caught 56 passes for 759 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior and caught 35 passes for 500 yards and scored eight touchdowns as a junior. College career While redshirting on the Tar Heels football team during his freshman year in 2004–05, Foster walked on to the men's basketball team at North Carolina. Sam Pittman
Sam Pittman (born November 28, 1961) is an American football coach who is the head football coach at the University of Arkansas. Prior to being hired at Arkansas, he was the associate head coach and offensive line coach at the University of Georgia. Prior to his hiring at Arkansas, Pittman spent almost his entire career, going back to the mid-1990s, as an offensive line coach at various college football programs. He also became known as one of the country’s top recruiters. Playing career Pittman was born in El Reno, Oklahoma. John Blake (American Football)
John Fitzgerald Blake (March 6, 1961 – July 23, 2020) was an American college and professional football coach. He played college football as a nose guard for the Oklahoma Sooners. He served as the head coach of the Sooners from 1996 to 1998. Coaching career Blake served as the head coach for the Oklahoma Sooners from 1996 to 1998, succeeding the one-year term of Howard Schnellenberger. Donavan Reed Tate (born September 27, 1990) is an American former college football quarterback for the University of Arizona Wildcats. Previously, he was a Minor League Baseball outfielder who was selected third overall by the San Diego Padres in the 2009 Major League Baseball draft. Bryn Renner
Bryn Renner (born January 22, 1990) is an American football coach and former quarterback who was most recently the quarterbacks coach at FIU. He played college football at the University of North Carolina from 2009 to 2013 for head coaches Butch Davis, Everett Withers, and Larry Fedora. He was the starter for the Tar Heels from 2011 to 2013. Kevin Reddick (born December 28, 1989) is an American football linebacker who is currently a free agent. He played college football at North Carolina. He was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2013. High school Reddick attended New Bern High School in New Bern, North Carolina, and also attended Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia. He was a varsity starter as a sophomore at fullback, and earned offensive MVP honors in the state 4-AA finals as a senior at that position after scoring two touchdowns to end Charlotte Independence's reign. Bruce Edward Carter (born February 19, 1988) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Deunta Williams (born November 21, 1987) is a former American football defensive back. He played football for the University of North Carolina. Williams was considered one of the top safety prospects in his class. High school career A native of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Williams attended White Oak High School, where he starred at wide receiver and defensive back. Williams also saw time as a running back and quarterback in his high school career. Gregory Lamar Little (born May 30, 1989) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football and college basketball at North Carolina. Kenneth Shaun Draughn ( "drone"; born December 7, 1987) is a former American football running back. He played college football at the University of North Carolina.
