The 2009 Korean Series was the 27th edition of Korea Baseball Organization's championship series. The best-of-seven playoff is played between the KIA Tigers (1st) and the SK Wyverns (2nd). Korea Baseball Organization
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO; ko, 한국야구위원회) is the governing body for the professional leagues of baseball in South Korea. The KBO was founded in 1981 and has governed two leagues: the KBO League ( ko, KBO 리그) and KBO Futures League ( ( farm league) since 1982. It is one of two major baseball governing bodies; the other is the Korea Baseball Association ( ko, 대한야구협회), which is the governing body for amateur baseball competitions. The KBO is a member of the International Baseball Federation (IBAF), and is responsible for the national baseball team for the World Baseball Classic and Asia Series. Kim Sang-Hyun (Infielder)
Kim Sang-hyeon (Hangul: 김상현, Hanja: 金相賢; born November 12, 1980 in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea) is a South Korean third baseman who played for 16 years in the KBO League. Professional career Kim debuted with the 2001 Haitai Tigers, the predecessor of Kia Tigers, but played an active part in farm team. Thus, In 2002 KBO season, he was traded to the LG Twins. In 2004, Kim was drafted into the Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps. In the Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps, Kim was the home run leader. In 2007, Kim was discharged from military service and returned to the LG Twins. However, he still played an active part in the farm team. In the 2009 KBO season, he was traded back to the Kia Tigers. Kim played in 121 games, hitting .315 with 127 RBI and hit a league-leading and a pro career-best 36 home runs. An Chi-hong (Hangul: 안치홍, Hanja: 安致弘) (born July 2, 1990) is a South Korean infielder who plays for the Lotte Giants of the KBO League. He bats and throws right-handed. Na Jiwan (, born May 19, 1985) is a South Korean former professional baseball outfielder. From 2008 to 2022, he played for the Kia Tigers of the KBO League. He batted and threw right-handed. Ken Kadokura
is a retired Japanese professional baseball pitcher. He played in Nippon Professional Baseball (Chunichi Dragons, Yomiuri Giants) and the KBO League. He threw a four-seam fastball, a slider, and a fork ball. Biography After 13 years in NPB, Kadokura made his debut in the Korea Baseball Organization with the SK Wyverns in 2009. He signed with the Samsung Lions in January 2011. As of 2019, Kadokura will be serving as a pitching coach for the Chunichi Dragons' second team. On May 15, 2021, he resigned as a coach. Jamsil Baseball Stadium () is a baseball stadium located at 25 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The stadium holds 25,000 people and was built from April 1980 to July 1982. Park Jae-hong (Hangul: 박재홍, Hanja: 朴栽弘; born September 7, 1973, in Gwangju, South Korea) is a retired South Korean outfielder in the KBO League. Park was considered one of the best five-tool players in the KBO.
