2009 GMAC Bowl
The 2009 GMAC Bowl was the tenth anniversary edition of the GMAC Bowl, an American college football bowl game. The contest was played on January 6, 2009, as part of the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season at Ladd–Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, and featured the Tulsa Golden Hurricane playing the Ball State Cardinals. The game, which was played in a second-half driving rainstorm, was won by Tulsa, 45–13. This was Tulsa's second consecutive GMAC Bowl victory, having defeated Bowling Green in the 2008 GMAC Bowl. The 68 Ventures Bowl is a postseason NCAA-sanctioned Division I FBS college football bowl game that has been played annually in Mobile, Alabama since 1999. Nate Charles Davis (born May 25, 1987) is an American football quarterback for the San Diego Strike Force of the Indoor Football League (IFL). He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL draft. He played college football at Ball State. David Johnson (born June 28, 1986) is an American former college football quarterback. He played for the Golden Hurricane at the University of Tulsa, where he was the starting quarterback for the 2008 season, after several years as a backup. Damaris Keith Johnson (born November 22, 1989) is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Bowling Green Falcons football program is the intercollegiate football team of Bowling Green State University. 2008 Ball State Cardinals Football Team
The 2008 Ball State Cardinals football team represented Ball State University in the Mid-American Conference during the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Brady Hoke, in his sixth season at Ball State, was the head coach until December 15, when he resigned to become the head coach at San Diego State. He was succeeded by offensive coordinator Stan Parrish, who coached the team during the GMAC Bowl and beyond. The Cardinals' home games were played at Scheumann Stadium in Muncie, Indiana.
