2009 Formula BMW Pacific Season
The 2009 Formula BMW Pacific season was the eighth Formula BMW, Formula BMW Pacific season. It began on May 2 in Sepang International Circuit, Sepang and ended on November 22 in Guia Circuit, Macau after 15 rounds in five countries. Rio Haryanto became champion with one race to spare, having won the title at Okayama International Circuit, Okayama. Teams and drivers * All cars are powered by BMW engines, and Mygale FB02 chassis. Formula BMW
Formula BMW was a junior racing formula for single seater cars. It was positioned at the bottom of the motorsport career ladder alongside the longer established Formula Ford category. Like Formula Ford, it was intended to function as the young kart racing graduate's first experience of car racing. The new formula was created by BMW Motorsport in 2001, with the first of its championships being inaugurated in Germany in 2002. Selected competitors from each series meet in the World Final at the end of each season, with the promise of a Formula One test for the winner. From 2011 onwards BMW ceased to support the Pacific and Europe series, in favour of the Formula BMW Talent Cup. EuroInternational is a racing organization (which includes Italian division EuroInternational Srl and American division EuroInternational Inc.) owned by Antonio Ferrari, grandnephew of Enzo Ferrari, formerly known as Euromotorsport. History Originally known as Euromotorsport, the team made its CART debut in 1989 with Jean-Pierre Frey at Phoenix. After Frey was unable to complete the USAC Rookie Orientation Program at Indianapolis, the team signed Davy Jones, who qualified for the Indianapolis 500 and finished in 7th place in his only appearance for the team that year. The team went on to compete in the CART Indy Car World Series, often fielding a number of European pay drivers, from 1989 to 1994. 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix
The 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix (formally the 2009 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix) was a Formula One motor race held on 5 April 2009 at the Sepang International Circuit in Sepang, Malaysia. It was the second race of the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship. The race was due to be contested over 56 laps, but was stopped after 31 laps due to torrential rain. Jenson Button, driving for the Brawn GP team, was declared the winner, having started from pole position. Nick Heidfeld was classified second for BMW Sauber with Timo Glock third for Toyota. As the race did not reach the required 75% distance (42 laps) for full points to be awarded, half-points were given instead, for only the fifth time in Formula One history and the first since the 1991 Australian Grand Prix and the last for 12 years until the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix. Tomoki Nojiri
is a Japanese racing driver for the Honda Motor Company. He currently drives in the GT500 class of the Autobacs Super GT Series, and the Super Formula Championship, where he is the 2021 and 2022 series champion. Jim Ka To ( zh, t=詹家圖; born 28 November 1984 in Hong Kong) is a race car driver who competed in the 2001 Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup and currently competes in the China Touring Car Championship. The son of Hong Kong street car racer Jim Chong Shing, he started racing at an early age at the Zhuhai International Circuit. Jazeman Firhan bin Jaafar (born 13 November 1992) is a Malaysian racing driver. Career Karting Jazeman started his career at a tender age of 6 in Shah Alam, Malaysia. Facundo "Facu" Regalia (born 23 November 1991 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine racing driver. He competed in his first two Formula BMW seasons under a Spanish racing licence. Career Karting Regalia began karting in 2006 and raced primarily in Spain for the majority of his career. Formula BMW Regalia began his formula racing career in 2008 in the newly created Formula BMW Europe with EuroInternational.
