2009 Formula BMW Europe Season
The 2009 Formula BMW Europe season was the second season of Formula BMW Europe championship. The championship was contested over sixteen races at eight meetings: seven of which supported Formula One Grands Prix and a meeting at the Masters of Formula 3 event at Zandvoort. Felipe Nasr won the title at Monza, having finished fourteen of the sixteen races in the top two and won the title by 104 points. Two months after the season's finish, all results were confirmed after Mücke Motorsport's appeal over a breach of technical regulations was rejected by the FIA. Formula BMW
Formula BMW was a junior racing formula for single seater cars. It was positioned at the bottom of the motorsport career ladder alongside the longer established Formula Ford category. Like Formula Ford, it was intended to function as the young kart racing graduate's first experience of car racing. The new formula was created by BMW Motorsport in 2001, with the first of its championships being inaugurated in Germany in 2002. Selected competitors from each series meet in the World Final at the end of each season, with the promise of a Formula One test for the winner. From 2011 onwards BMW ceased to support the Pacific and Europe series, in favour of the Formula BMW Talent Cup. Jack Harvey (racing Driver)
Jack Harvey (born 15 April 1993) is a British auto racing driver who competes full-time in the NTT IndyCar Series, driving the No. 30 Chevrolet for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, and a former member of McLaren's Young Driver Programme. Career Karting Harvey began his kart racing career at the age of nine. In 2006 he won the MSA Super One British title by a single point, and the Kartmasters British Grand Prix, both in the ICA-J class. In 2007 Harvey became a driver for the Italian Maranello team, in the newly created KF3 category. He ended up winning four trophies by the end of the year, with the Andrea Margutti Trophy, another Kartmasters title, the Italian Open Masters championship, and became European Champion in KF3. Gary Thompson (racing Driver)
Gary Thompson (born 31 May 1992 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish racecar driver. Career Thompson started racing in karts in 2003, finishing 5th in the Cadet Irish Championship. His karting career continued in the British Cadet Championship and later the British JICA Championship, where he finished 6th in 2006 and 3rd in 2007. In 2009 Thompson moved into Formula Cars and raced in the Formula BMW Pacific Championship, winning the opening race at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia. In total Thompson had 11 podium finishes and finished 2nd overall, winning the Rookie of the Year Cup. He spent the following years racing in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship with the KC Motorgroup (KCMG) team, while also testing Super Formula for the KCMG team at the Fuji Speedway. Double R Racing
Double R Racing is a motor racing team, which races in Formula Three and other junior levels of formula racing including the MSA Formula Championship for the 2016 season. The team was formed in November 2004 as Räikkönen Robertson Racing by then McLaren Formula One driver and world champion with Ferrari, Kimi Räikkönen, and his race manager Steve Robertson, a former Formula Three driver. Côme Ledogar (born 23 May 1991) is a professional racing driver from France. He is best known for winning the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup overall title in 2016, with Robert Bell and Shane van Gisbergen, and for winning the 2021 24 Hours of Spa overall and the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GTE Pro class. Javier Tarancón
Javier Tarancón (born 23 November 1991) is a Spanish racing driver who has raced in karting, Formula BMW and Formula Renault. His career began in 2000 at the age of 8. Career Karting In 2000, Tarancón finished 10th in the Catalonia Karting Championship but won the Social Vendrell Karting Championship. In 2001, he again took the title in Social Vendrell Karting and finished 3rd in three other competitions: the Championship Catalonia, Toyota Open and the Race of Champions (as a cadet). Jim Pla (born 6 October 1992 in Béziers) is a French racing driver. Michael Klitgaard Christensen (born 28 August 1990) is a Danish racing driver. He is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Porsche in the GTE PRO class. Mücke Motorsport is an auto racing team based in Germany, which is also known as ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg. History Single-seaters Mücke Motorsport was formed by Peter Mücke in 1998 to run his son Stefan Mücke in the German Formula BMW ADAC series, in which they were champions.
