2009 BC Lions Season
The 2009 BC Lions season was the 52nd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 56th overall. The Lions finished the season in fourth place in the West Division with a disappointing 8–10 record after losing their last three regular season games. While it was their first losing record since 2001, they still managed to play in the East-Semi Final playoff game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after that same team eliminated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the last game of the season. The Lions would go on to play in the first East Final in franchise history, which they lost to the Montreal Alouettes. It was the sixth consecutive appearance for the Lions in a division final and the third consecutive season that their season was ended by the eventual Grey Cup champions. Bishop's University
Bishop's University (french: Université Bishop's) is a small English-language Liberal arts college, liberal arts university in Lennoxville, a borough of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. The founder of the institution was the Anglican Diocese of Quebec, Anglican Bishop of Quebec, George Mountain, who also served as the first principal of McGill University. It is one of three universities in the province of Quebec that teach primarily in English (the others being McGill University and Concordia University, both in Montreal). It began its foundation by absorbing the Lennoxville Classical School as Bishop's College School in the 1840s. The college was formally founded in 1843 and received a royal charter from Queen Victoria in 1853. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man line defense, seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an "end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. When most teams adopted a five-man line, two different styles of end play developed: "crashing" ends, who rushed into the backfield to disrupt plays, and "stand-up" or "waiting" ends, who played the more traditional containment style. Jonathan Pierre-Etienne
Jonathan Pierre-Etienne (born July 7, 1984) is a Canadian lawyer and former professional Canadian football linebacker and defensive lineman for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. He was originally drafted by the BC Lions The BC Lions are a professional Canadian football team based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Lions compete in the West Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and play their home games at BC Place. The Lions played their first season ... in the fifth round of the 2009 CFL Draft. After completing his college eligibility, he signed with the Argonauts on December 16, 2011. He played college football for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights from 2005-2008 and then transferred to the Université de Montréal and played CIS football for the Montreal Carabins from 2008-2011.
