2008–09 BIBL Season
The 2008-09 season is the first season of the Balkan International Basketball League. Each team plays every other team in its group at home and away. The top 4 teams in each group advance to the playoffs. Games will be played from October 7, 2008 to February 18, 2009. Quarterfinals The top four teams in each group advance for the quarterfinals. Basketball League Of Serbia
The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, consists of two stages: the First League which has 16 teams and the SuperLeague which has 8 teams. Since the 2017–18 season, the top 8 teams in First League are promoted to Super League with five Serbian teams from the ABA League. Two lowest-placed teams, positioned 15th and 16th in the First League, are relegated to a lower-tier league – Second Basketball League of Serbia. The Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL), also known as the Balkan League, is a multinational professional basketball league that features mostly clubs from the Balkans. The league included teams from countries as Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania and Israel. The most recent league champion is Hapoel Galil Elyon from Israel. Purpose The purpose of the Balkan International Basketball League is to provide competitive international play for clubs in the Balkans that would otherwise be unable to participate in international basketball. The league achieves this by providing financial support to all participating clubs in order to ease the costs that make international play difficult. Samokov
Samokov ( bg, Самоков ) is a town in Sofia Province in the southwest of Bulgaria. It is situated in a basin between the mountains Rila and Vitosha, 55 kilometres from the capital Sofia. BC Dinamo București or Dinamo Știința București, formerly known as Dinamo-Erbașu or Dinamo Gealan, is a Romanian professional basketball club, based in Bucharest, Romania.
