Daniel Bélanger
Daniel Bélanger (born December 26, 1961) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. His music is eclectic, inspired by alternative rock, folk and electronic music, sometimes humorous, sometimes wistful. Biography In middle 1983, he founded the band Humphrey Salade with Norman Lachance, Eric Maier and Jean Gauvin. Unfortunately, timing was not right and the band never recorded. His first solo album released in 1992, ''Les Insomniaques s'amusent'' has sold 175,000 copies and won the Félix for best pop-rock album. The first single released ''Opium'' was number one in Quebec for seven weeks and won the Félix for Videoclip of the Year. This first album also earned him the ADISQ awards for Bestselling Album of the Year, Male Performer of the Year and Show of the Year in 1994. Afterparty Babies
''Afterparty Babies'' is the second album by Canadian rapper Cadence Weapon, released on March 4, 2008, by Anti-Records and Upper Class Recordings in the United States and Canada and March 10, 2008, by Big Dada in the United Kingdom. After signing with U.S. label Anti- and the re-release of his debut album ''Breaking Kayfabe'', he spent eleven months in his hometown of Edmonton to work on new material for his next record. Whereas ''Breaking Kayfabe'' used heavy beats and grime from the electronic genre for its overall sound, ''Afterparty Babies'' has a club-feel throughout with elements of house and tech house that go along with Cadence's autobiographical lyrics about inter-personal relationships in his hometown of Edmonton and the youth culture interacting with both the Internet and media in general. Cadence Weapon
Roland "Rollie" Pemberton, better known by his stage name Cadence Weapon, is a Canadian-American rapper based in Toronto, Ontario. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Pemberton released his first album, ''Breaking Kayfabe'', in 2005 with positive reviews. He subsequently signed with the American record label ANTI-, releasing the albums ''Afterparty Babies'' in 2008 and ''Hope in Dirt City'' in 2012. The Buttless Chaps
The Buttless Chaps were a Canadians, Canadian indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The group played a hybrid of punk rock, punk, New wave music, new wave and alternative country music. Band members included Dave Gowans on vocals, guitar and banjo, Morgan McDonald on keyboards, Lasse Lutick on guitar and synthesizer, Torben Wilson on drums and Ida Nilsen on vocals, accordion, synthesizer and euphonium. Isabelle Boulay, (born 6 July 1972) is a French Canadian singer. Biography Born in Sainte-Félicité, Quebec, where her parents owned a restaurant, Boulay moved to the nearby city of Matane at the start of her adolescence, and studied literature at Cégep Limoilou. In 1988, her friends signed her up, without her knowledge, for a singing contest in Matane, where she made the acquaintance of Josélito Michaud, who later became her agent. In 1990, at the Petite-Vallée song festival, she won an award for her performance of "Les gens de mon pays" (Gilles Vigneault). The following year, in 1991, she won the Granby song festival for her rendition of "Amsterdam" (Jacques Brel) and "Naufrage" (Dan Bigras). Born Ruffians are a Canadian indie rock band based in Toronto. Officially founded in 2004 in the Georgian Bay town of Midland, Ontario, the band is composed of frontman Luke Lalonde, bassist Mitch DeRosier, and drummer Steve Hamelin. During the 2010s, they were also joined by Andy Lloyd (guitar/keyboards) and Adam Hindle (drums). Bonjour Brumaire
Bonjour Brumaire was a francophone indie pop band based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Its members were Youri Zaragoza (vocals, guitar), Nathan Howard (guitar, vocals), Francois Lessard (drums), Karine Novelle (keyboards, vocals), Béatrice Martin (keyboards, vocals), Patrick Brownson (keyboards, vocals), Mathieu Dumontier (bass guitar, vocals) and Jordan Larocque (bass guitar, vocals). ''In the Future'' is the second album by Black Mountain, which was released January 21, 2008. It follows their eponymous debut album which was released in 2005. A "limited edition" of the album was released on the same day with three bonus tracks on a second disc. It debuted on the UK Album Chart at #72. The album art was designed by keyboardist Jeremy Schmidt, who was influenced by Storm Thorgerson's work. The album was a nominee for the 2008 Polaris Music Prize. Black Mountain is a Canadian psychedelic rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia. The band is composed of Stephen McBean, Jeremy Schmidt, Adam Bulgasem, Amber Webber, Arjan Miranda.
