2008 Orlando Predators Season
The 2008 Orlando Predators season was the 18th season for the franchise. Finishing the regular season with a 9–7 record, the Predators made the playoffs for the 17th consecutive year. In this season, they made the playoffs as the 5th seed in the National Conference. The Predators were eliminated in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, losing to the Cleveland Gladiators, 66–69. Jay Gruden
Jay Michael Gruden (born March 4, 1967) is an American football coach and former quarterback who is an offensive consultant for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach of the Washington Redskins from 2014 to 2019 and as offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars. During his time in the Arena Football League (AFL), he won four ArenaBowls as a player and two more as a head coach. Gruden is the younger brother of former NFL head coach Jon Gruden and was an assistant coach of the 2002 Buccaneers team that won Super Bowl XXXVII. The Gas South Arena (originally known as the Gwinnett Civic Center Arena, later known as The Arena at Gwinnett Center and Infinite Energy Arena) is an indoor arena in Duluth, Georgia. Ahmad Carroll
Ahmad Raheem Carroll (born August 4, 1983) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Arkansas and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Carroll was also a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Orlando Predators, New York Jets, Calgary Stampeders, Hartford Colonials, Virginia Destroyers, Arizona Rattlers and Toronto Argonauts. Damon Mason
Damon Mason (born April 21, 1974) is a former American football defensive back. Playing career High school career Mason played high school football at Destrehan High School. College career Mason played college football at the University of Southwestern Louisiana and Jones County Junior College. He spent 1992 as redshirt freshman at Southwestern Louisiana before transferring to Jones County for the 1993 season. In 1994, Mason returned to Southwestern Louisiana and played through 1996. He finished his career at Southwestern Louisiana with 243 total tackles, 28 tackles for loss, four sacks and six interceptions and had his number was retired by the school. Jake Eaton
Jake Eaton (born February 11, 1981) is a high school athletic director in Proctor, Vermont. Before his executive career, Eaton played in the af2 with the Cape Fear Wildcats in 2004 and the Manchester Wolves in 2005. He went on to the Arena Football League in 2006 and played for the Orlando Predators before retiring in 2009. Eaton was inducted into the University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. 2008 Dallas Desperados Season
The 2008 Dallas Desperados season is the seventh season for the franchise. The Desperados finished the regular season 12–4, but despite having the second best record in the National Conference, they made the playoffs as the 3rd seed because they did not win their division. Their Wild Card round opponent was the New York Dragons, a team which the Desperados had defeated in both regular season meetings. The Dragons, unfortunately for the Desperados, won the game that counted the most of the three, eliminating the Desperados from the playoffs by a score of 77–63.
