2008 Mnet Km Music Festival
The 2008 Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF) was the tenth of the annual music awards in Seoul, South Korea that took place on November 15, 2008, at the Seoul Sports Complex. Leading the nominees were boy groups TVXQ and Epik High, and girl group Wonder Girls with 5 nominations each. By the end of the ceremony, Wonder Girls won the most wins and became the first artist/performer to receive 3 wins, which included one daesang award. Seoul Sports Complex ( ko, 서울종합운동장), also known as Jamsil Sports Complex ( ko, 잠실종합운동장), is a group of sports facilities in Songpa-gu in Seoul, South Korea. It was built for the 1986 Asian Games and 1988 Summer Olympics from December 1976 to September 1984. The complex is South Korea's largest integrated sports center, spanning an area of 402,816 m². SS501
SS501 is a South Korean boy band consisting of five members: Kim Hyun-joong, Heo Young-saeng, Kim Kyu-jong, Park Jung-min and Kim Hyung-jun. They debuted in 2005 with the EP ''Warning'', which included their first number one song, "Never Again". In 2007, SS501 entered the Japanese market with the maxi single ''Kokoro'', which debuted at number five on the Oricon chart. SG Wannabe () is a South Korean vocal group consisting of members Kim Yong-jun, Kim Jin-ho and Lee Seok-hoon. The group debuted in January 2004 with the single, "Timeless", from the album ''SG Wanna Be+'', and won Best New Artist at the Golden Disc Awards, Seoul Music Awards, and SBS Gayo Daejeon. Jaurim
Jaurim ( meaning "Purple Rainforest") is a rock band from Seoul, South Korea. They had performed in the indie scene in 1993. The band's initial name was Full Count. They changed the band's name to Jaurim in 1997 and became major with their first released single 'Hey Hey Hey' (an original soundtrack of 꽃을 든 남자, A Man who is holding Flowers). They have released ten full-length albums, three unofficial albums, two original soundtrack singles, one original soundtrack EP (which was released as a digital single), and one concert album. Jewelry ( ko, 쥬얼리) was a South Korean girl group formed in 2001 by Star Empire Entertainment. The group, which underwent several line-up changes over the years, disbanded in 2015. "U" is a song by South Korean pop group Super Junior, and is the group's follow-up release to their debut album ''Twins''. The single topped CD sales charts during the first several weeks after its release on June 7, 2006. "U" peaked at #1 on the monthly MIAK K-pop album charts and sold 91,416 copies by 2008. The song won a total of five music recognitions, being Super Junior's most successful single in the music charts until the release of "Sorry, Sorry" in March 2009. Mighty Mouth ( ko, 마이티 마우스) is a South Korean duet male group made up of Sangchu ( ko, 상추) and Shorry J ( ko, 쇼리 J). Debuted in 2008 with their ''Energy'' album featuring Yoon Eun Hye for "I love you", Sunye of the Wonder Girls for "Energy" and Son Dambi for "Family". On January 18, 2011, Mighty Mouth released Tok Tok as part of their album Mighty Fresh. This was the first of many songs featuring Soya. 2AM ( ko, 투에이엠) is a South Korean boy band, that consists of Jo Kwon, Lee Chang-min, Lim Seul-ong and Jeong Jinwoon. The band was formed by JYP Entertainment through the Mnet documentary ''Hot Blood'', which spawned the eleven-member boy band One Day; 2AM primarily perform ballad songs while their brother group 2PM performed more dance-focused music. "My Way" is a song popularized in 1969 by Frank Sinatra set to the music of the French song "Comme d'habitude" composed by Jacques Revaux with lyrics by Gilles Thibaut and Claude François and first performed in 1967 by Claude François. Its English lyrics were written by Paul Anka and are unrelated to the original French song. The song was a success for a variety of performers including Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Sid Vicious. Sinatra's version of "My Way" spent 75 weeks in the UK Top 40, which is 3rd place all-time. Background In 1967, Jacques Revaux wrote a ballad named "For Me", with English lyrics about a couple falling out of love. According to Revaux, the demo was then sent to Petula Clark, Dalida, and Claude François, to no avail.
