2008 Missouri Republican Presidential Primary
The 2008 Missouri Republican presidential primary on February 5, 2008 determined the recipient of 55 of the state's 58 delegates to the Republican National Convention in the process to elect the 44th President of the United States. It was an open primary. John McCain won a slight plurality of the vote, receiving all of Missouri's delegates. Adair County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. The population census for 2020 was 25,314. As of July 1, 2021, the U.S. Census Bureau's Population Estimates for the county is 25,185, a -0.5% change. Adair county seat is Kirksville. The county was first settled by immigrants from Kentucky and organized on January 29, 1841. Adair County comprises the Kirksville, MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. There are 114 counties and one independent city in the U.S. State of Missouri. Following the Louisiana Purchase and the admittance of Louisiana into the United States in 1812, five counties were formed out of the Missouri Territory at the first general assembly: Cape Girardeau, New Madrid, Saint Charles, Saint Louis, and Ste.
